Vehicle Detail
Hate to sell my baby- but things change- Bought this car 4 1/2 years ago- Drove to North Carolina, picked it up. The car was a good deal at the time- Original 66 442 convertible 4 speed- This is where the adventure started, wanted to put the car back original or as close to it as possible, could not find the elusive 400 "E" block so I ordered a 455 crate motor new paint some body work to put back to original color Forest Mist Black interior and top. The car quickly reached the 40K range knowing that I won't get that out of it (Times what the are) I've decided to sell or more accurately mortgage payment and food dictate the sell. Almost everything on this car is new or rebuilt. I have been buying and collecting parts since the inception of this project and I have alot. The car was built the second week of October 1965 from what I and others can decipher on the cowl Tag - Lansing built car 4 speed with console, power windows A/C, tinted glass, deluxe seatbelts, Forest Mist Black interior Black Top- car was restored aprox 20 tears ago prior to me getting it. Thus red paint white top when I got it and a good running 350 olds, A, 442 needs a big block so this is what it got. Car was presented to me that it could have been a trac pac car I have no documentation to confirm or deny this- there was some indication the car may have been used at the track, scatter-shield installed when I got it- I went on the assumption it was probably not. Car is rated at very good driver quality- body is straight very little rust was found drivers floor board had the typical hole where the heel rests and gas pedal mount, some back of front fenders had to be redone from previous restoration but all in all body and frame were solid. *455 Crate motor B" heads 7 Qt Milodon Pan adjustable Rockers, MSD ignition edelbrock intake and carb, Lunati Voodoo series cam Kenne Bell Headers, new exhaust stainless magnaflow mufflers, Chrome Block letters Oldsmobile valve covers, Aluminium radiator, supposed to be around 450hp very stout. Runs on pump gas wiht a little octane booster occaisionally. * New Auburn posi 3.55 gears 10 Bolt BOP * 12" McCleod clutch and pressure plate, new flywheel, M-21 rebuilt, new driveshaft *New 15" SS1 rims new BJG tires * New top * Side winder tach added * custom auto sound Radio with Kick panel speakers * complete front end rebuild * Tri-Carb setup- Intake is in good shape one spot on drivers side circle got broke and had to be repaired - needs 1 helicoil on one of the block off plates. New Parts place carbs, original linkage and fuel lines had this setup on the car for about 6 months ran great and what a blast to drive. I have a 3/8" glass fuel bowl with the bolt in the top not sure if it is absolutly correct but is identical. Do not have carb tags long oil fill tube and fuel bowl bracket, I know some of this is reproduced, the fill tube is hardest to get but there still out there. Also have thermostat housing and molded bypass hose. * 1967 E Block complete needs cleaning and rebuilding the motor spun a rod bearing and the crank will need to be turned. This motor has a build date of 193 which fits into the time frame of the build for this car, not original but for all practical purposes it is correct, This motor was an A/C car with Automatic everything I have for this motor will be included, brackets alternator trans power steering pump, Motor has been disassembled but all parts are there- this motor had everything attached minus carb and A/C compressor. The transmission is the switch pitch for 67 complete with torque convertor probably would have it looked at and or gone through with early flexplate * Early 400 flywheel Manuel trans * Lots of Parts for 66-67 Olds A bodies 2 dash pads driver quality, not junk, 2 dash assemblies pretty much complete, new and used A/C parts several dash controls additional firewall box, 2 glove box doors good shape, 1 additional core support good shape surface rust, 1 additional 3 core top plate. 1 Chrome top cap for convertible, A/C vents seatbelts headlight buckets,( 3 T-3 Lamps) front fender extensions chrome front hood moulding. I have lots of small knobs there will be boxes of stuff you will get everything I have for 66 -67 Car is a great driver lots of fun Compliments everywhere we go- My 2 1/2 year old grandson call it his "BOOM BOOM" That is another reason I hate to sell but thats one of the reason I buy toys, when times get hard I know I can sell them off, Not at what you have invested but something. If you go to Disney or six flags do you ge a refund on your pleasure - I don't think so!! Now let me explain I not pawning this car off as absolutly perfect like some I see, This is not a 1000 point restoration or show car winner, I don't do shows with this car, I don't like paying a $50 or $75 entry fee to win a $5 trophy the math does not add up, if the show is for a good charity I do not mind donating for the cause. This car was built as a driver plain and simple, something me and the family could enjoy, We have had very little time to enjoy the way it should, although I had alot of fun researching parts and learning about Oldsmobile and finding the very rare or elusive part. We have put maybe 2500 miles on it while I had it. Things that I planned on fixing or redoing- Build the E Block go through all the A/C stuff have it factory correct. Dash have one of the plastic inserts restored chrome on insert not great ( very few are) interior could use a little tweaking and or replacing, little things like courtesy lamps etc could use some love. Some of the interior chrome could use some help, get rid of the headers and replace with factory exhaust manifolds ( unfortunately I don't have a set) but see them from time to time plus the are rebopped no biggy.Go thru all the power window switches and motor 40+ years they could work better,Drivers side motor was just replaced but others seem slow. I have a small oil pan leak that I wasn't concerned with - Build the E block. Paint looks very good but if you look hard you will find some minor imperfections, again not a 1000 point car. Carpet is new but could stand some adjustment, Top is new but is not perfect. I'm telling you all this to keep confusion to a minimum- This car is not flawless and has some imperfections, but they all do - I 've looked at cars that claim to be flawless and most are far from it. If you desire a good car that will be enjoyable - turn heads every where you go this could be what your looking for. If the buy it now option is used bring several trailers and large trucks You will get everything I have for OLDS cutlass/442 here is a partial listing sure I will find more stuff. This Is a very rare car according to my sources only around 1400 convertible 442/ 4 speeds were made now add the options shown. Car also has tilt steering but I beleive it is from a 67 so I don't beleive this was a factory option, steering wheel is rebob from later model, my steering wheel was not that good, and yes I know the dual master cylinder started in 67 - like dual over single for safety. Other options I forgot to mention power steering/ power brakes I beleive these are true to the car but no documentation to support it If Buy it now is used these parts will be included 1973 455 with long shaft turbo 400 should run Have not tried to start it yet late model in the 80's 350 with #5 heads ran great, 1969 442/400 complete motor, trans, 12 Bolt type O (open) sway bars. The 69 400 looks to be never touched looks the worst for wear but all could be rebuilt.Unknown F block and crank very rusty use as core. 1968 cutlass 2 door post car for restoration typical rust fenders rear quarter pans are fairly solid lots of chrome from 2 cars 2 hoods one good one not so good. Good non A/C black dash pad for 68, fenders and doors from 69 post car all need work. Several sets of valve covers oil pans etc, some valve covers notched various stages. Swivel bucket seats from the 70's decent shape. As plans change my intention was to build a ram rod clone out of the 68, I thinks it was only 50 or so post ramrods. wanted to make a nice car without the stigma of a 442/ if the parts weren't exact it would be OK and alot cheaper. M-20 muncie out of a 66 442 have not torn it apart but is supposed to be road ready. 2 standard shift bellhousings good shape, starters, one high tourqe, Like I mentioned lots of parts- That I don't have time to deal with, this could be a start your own Olds parts collection or If you were like me If it said olds and the price was fair I bought it. Now I'm selling it go figure. I am setting my reserve on the car hopefully for a quick sale, Like I mentioned earlier Above 40K in car plus all the other stuff BooCoo bucks. Car /parts are located Gulf Coast of Alabama pick up only $1500 deposited via pay pal within 72 hours pick up with cash in 7 days. Car sold with Bill of sale prior to 1977? title not used in Alabama, car is registered so with registration and Bill of sale you can get it titled without a problem. And no I don't want to sell parts separately. Hopefully someone buys this car that has the time to spend on this car - but for Gods Sake DRIVE IT there are getting to be to many Trailer Queens/ museum quality non driving just for show vehicles these days. Thanks Dave I have been getting lots of questions concerning rust, this car is very solid what little rust that was found was repaired with metal, the only filler that was used was very thin- the body on this car is straight, undercarrige is in great shape looks to have been undercoated maybe from the dealer, no rust on frame or pans. You will not be disapointed, I was being very honest concerning this car, beacuse I know it like the back of my hand, I put it up on ramps today and fixed the oil leak, so that should not be a concern, This car drives and handles great. The flaws I mentioned are minor by comparison, If it were absolutlety perfect I would be asking $50K for it.I mentioned some of the parts included with the buy it now found a few other things I forgot about, 2 sets of A body headers, pair of #7 heads from 71 350 stripped and cleaned have not magged but should be good to go
