Vehicle Detail
1956 Porsche 356A T1 I gave up on selling the car through the non-ebay avenues so here it is…. The history: My wife’s godfather, an avid car collector and vintage auto enthusiast, gave us this car several years ago as a future project. Our intention was for a complete restoration to a fun driver but a project house and the arrival of our two little guys have changed priorities (and funding). Instead of letting it fall apart from rust and accidental bumps next to my shop, I would rather sell it to someone who has the time and money to bring it to its native state. Additional pictures of the car can be seen at: http://1956porsche356photos.shutterfly.com/pictures#n_5 A Porsche enthusiast came over to check out the car yesterday evening and pointed out some new information. “The Jacking points on both sides have been replaced; the welding job is poor and will need to be redone. There are patch panels on the floor. Also probably need to be replaced due to poor craftsmanship.” The Serial # of the car is 55751, thus making it a 1956 manufactured by Reutter (I believe). The car has a speedster steering wheel installed. Engine is missing, transaxle is installed, the functionality is not known. The hood for the car has rust around the front edge, but the overall shape is good. The hood #’s match the body. The engine cover is in excellent structural shape with only surface rust. Both doors have good lines, even gaps and open and close The contour of the front and back of the car would suggest that it has not been in any big accidents. The back looks perfect and the front has slight damage on the bottom lip. There is some through rust on the base of the A pillar / upper fender. I pulled up part of the carpet and there is a few small holes of rust around the pedals. Without blasting or dipping the car, it is hard to tell what is underneath the paint. There are a few filler cracks so I’m assuming that the car has had a little work done to it. The interior looks to be intact, and shows its age.. There is no headliner and the inside of the roof shows surface rust. All four arm rests are included but have surface rust. The seats look pretty good and are complete. All of the glass is included, installed and in good condition. The car rolls and steers. Unfortunately I do not have a title or any paperwork on the car. The car was last registered in 1981. I will sign over a bill of sale and do what is needed to make the transaction smooth and secure. Again, please let me know if there are any questions or if more pictures are needed. I can and will assist in the loading of the car onto your trailer or a shipper, but I will not orchestrate the shipping. I have limited knowledge on the Porsche 356’s, so if you have any particular questions, please do not hesitate to ask through email bsteyaert@linvatec.com . The car is also available for viewing to serious buyers. Please email me for information. On Jun-12-10 at 08:36:07 PDT, seller added the following information: Update (June 12th, 2010): Due to the heavy oversea's interest in the car and the need for the pink slip to go through customs, the following option will be available. I can start the pink slip process and register the car in my name. It is expected to take several weeks to a month. At this time I only require a deposit to hold the car. Full payment will be required when the pink slip arrives and the car is ready to ship. I can deliver the car to the shipping port in LA for $250. Please let me know if there are any questions on concerns. Regards, Brett On Jun-18-10 at 15:01:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Update (06/18/2010): After discussing the process with DMV again, it is looking like the title process will take longer than a few weeks. Because of this, and that the car needs an actual pink slip to ship internationally, the car will now only be sold domestically with a bill of sale. I realize that this devalues the car and thus the reserve has been lowered. I apologize for any confusion this may cause. Regards, Brett
