NO RESERVE SALE!!! Look at the pictures before you read any further!! This 1976 Eldorado Convertible was purchased in early 2006 and during the last four years has undergone a complete body on restoration. Almost everything on the car has been replaced, reconditioned or restored. The car has been restored correctly to factory original condition. From the correct fiber optics to the correct black hubcap inserts, attention to all the little details were addressed. Many restorations are not complete. Compare this car to other pictures on EBAY and you will see some of the differences. Chrome around the rear tail lights, chrome at the end of the rear light fillers, battery hold down bracket in place, rear seat fiber optics light indicator, etc. BODY : There is no bondo or fiberglass filler on the body of the car. Any rust areas were replaced with sheet metal. The car was re-painted with the original "Firemist" color with clear coat. All chrome is in the proper place and is the original. All new weather stripping was installed in the doors. All new weather stripping, chrome and felt was installed in all four windows. All electric window motors were cleaned and lubricated and the plastic rear window guides at the bottom of the frame were removed and new ones installed. MECHANICAL: The original engine runs great with no oil usage or leaks. The car was recently driven from Indianapolis, IN to St. Paul, MN to my summer home and achieved 19 miles to the gallon gas usage. All numbers match. Original transmission has been rebuilt. New brake power booster and master cylinder. Original rochester carburerator has been rebuilt. New alternator, rebuilt windshield wiper motor, new belts, new front brake hoses, new air shocks, new muffler. New power steering resevoir. New battery with shut off switch inside the engine compartment. The A/C system has not been recharged. TOP: The converible top was replaced with a new, original factory specific one and installed by a former GM employee. It has a new glass window, refurbished latches and a new 2nd bow and new attachments. A new black canvass rear window well covering was also installed to correspond with the factory original. All new rubber weatherstripping was installed onto the top. The electric top motor was removed, cleaned and lubricated and new rubber mounts installed. New motor cables were installed. INTERIOR: The seats are new LEATHER from SMS Interiors. It smells like leather and is just as soft as it looks in the pictures. The door panels were removed and reconditioned with the original matching dye color. Carpet is new, door sill plates new, fiber optic light indicators on rear seat and on front fenders functioning. Radio does not work, but antenna does. The rear speakers were removed during restoration and not re-installed. The original ones and new ones are with the car for the new owner to install with either a refurbished radio or a different audio system. TRUNK: New felt and cardboard lining is installed. Original jack equipment in place. TIRES: The four tires are not new but have plenty of tread. See picture. The spare tire is old with little tread left. MANUALS: Included is the original Cadillac owner's manual, original Cadillac Shop Manual, original 1976 Fisher Body Service Manual and all documentation of the restoration.
