Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 I’m the original owner of this 2001 Isuzu Vehicross. I bought it new, Feb. 2002, in Phoenix, AZ and drove it back to Los Angeles. It has been primarily driven by my wife, which explains the super low mileage. She loved the futuristic look of the Vehicross and it still attracts attention whether parked or cruising the freeway. There were only about 4000 imported for all 3 years it was manufactured (1999, 2000, 2001). We’re selling it because my wife injured her back and it’s difficult for her to get in and out of the Isuzu (20"step up). I like the VX, but I need an open bed pick-up for work. Our VX has never been off-road. As I stated earlier, the wife liked it because of its design. When she drove the VX, she was impressed with the tight turning circle (34 ft. curb to curb) which is about the same as her old Toyota MR2. The interior is quite roomy, although the two door design makes access to the rear seats somewhat awkward. The spare has never touched the ground. Windows, CD player, radio, A/C etc. all work correctly. No leaking fluids, nor warning lights coming on. Garaged kept when not in use and a car cover was used for the first few years when she parked it at work. There’s no shortage of high mileage VXs for sale, but for a little more $, you can get a low mileage example where the risk/reward ratio is in your favor. Good stuff: - Super low mileage. Currently only 26389 (maybe a little higher if someone local takes a test drive). - Paint and body condition is excellent. No door dings, scratches or dents visible to my eyes. A few tiny paint dings on the front from normal freeway driving (to small to photograph without macro). - The VX is in excellent condition and has a clean Carfax report. - A new set of Michelin Latitude HP 255/55/R18 tires were installed about 200 miles ago. - The interior is in excellent condition overall (see flaws). Recaro seats are top notch and the carpeting looks almost new. - We are non-smokers, so the interior is still fresh. - I changed the engine oil and filter approx. every 3000 miles or six months. - Last service performed only a few weeks ago: Engine oil and filter change, front/rear differential and transfer case fluids replaced (synthetic). - I installed a new serpentine belt (the original was aging, so why take a chance). California registration good through April, 2011. - The VX is totally stock except for the tires (originals were 245/60/R18) and a small Fresnel lens on the rear glass for improved rear close-up visibility. Flaws: - I managed to scrape the passenger door panel while loading an aluminum camera case in the passenger seat. The case had a loose hinge with a sharp edge and it gouged the panel (see photo). Never heard the last of that one! - Other then the scrape on the door panel and a few scuffs around the foot well (passenger side), the interior is in excellent condition. Check out the photos. I didn’t hose down the int/ext. with Armor All, so the photos are more representative of the actual interior and exterior condition. Although the vehicle is still under the original 10 year-120,000 mile limited power train warranty, it is not transferable to a new owner. Therefore, the vehicle is sold as-is.
