Vehicle Detail
Fun 86 4runner. 22re fuel injected, rare factory 2 seater with factory metal pan that replaced rear seats. Factory air conditioning that worked when I took the belt off 4 years ago. Sony stereo / CD player I have owned for about 5 years. It has been my hunting and fishing truck during that time. I used it to run back and forth to the cabin (about 280 mile round trip). Very reliable and has never let me down in 5 years. Runs like a watch, but is a little under powered with the high mileage and 31" mud tires. I painted dead grass tan last year. Body was rusty, but I riveted metal in place, bondo'd things up and painted it. When a little rust starts showing, I just hit it with the angle grinder and touch it up. I want to make it clear that the repairs done are just a cover-up to make the thing look cool and try to keep the elemets out. I want to make it clear that the body was pretty rough, it was rusted through in spots and the work I did was just a Patch Job to make it look OK. It's pop riveted metal and bondo. Dents have been ponded out, the under carriage is pretty rusty. The frame is not cracked or rusted through and has never needed to be repaired. Mechanically it is solid and runs very very good. Dont think you are getting a vehicle to restore. It is to drive and have run with! Needs- New wiper blades Floor patched in back of driver front tire Antenna Winshield is cracked, but low and to the passanger side so not a real bother Things I've done Patched the body in various locations including passanger floor repaced seals at transfer case (front and rear) U- joints Clutch Slave Hot wired rear window (yes it works) new muffler and tail pike (about 4 years ago, so they are a little rusted) rig is very quiet just fixed speedometer/ odometer- shows about 209,000, guessing I put 10-11K on since I've had it replaced all 4 tires w/ very aggressive retreads. Tires have I would guess about 8K on them Made very sturdy front and rear bumpers, rear has a ball and working 4 pin wiring for pulling a small trailer new rear brake lines thermostat Great truck, very reliable and would drive most anywhere. Was pretty rusty, but frame seems solid and is not cracked. Clutch does not slip. Brakes work good. Drives very smooth, no shimmies, not shakes. Mud tires are a little loud. Adjusting for the tire size, gets around 20mpg. Get yourself the ultimate little woods and wheeling rig. It is what it is, FUN!
