Vehicle Detail

This one owner Lincoln Continental Convertible has spent it's entire life garage kept in the dry climate of San Antonio, Texas. This vehicle has never been restored and is a good example of a rust free survivor. It still retains it's original sheet metal, most of it's original black paint and still has the original drive train. The convertible top was replaced in the early 90's as well as the carpet and the seat cushion bottoms. The odometer reads 99k original miles. The car has been off the road since 2003 and the original owner's family has finally decided to sell the car. This is an original air conditioned car. This car is extremely well documented. Included with the car are the original window sticker, dealer invoice, warranty card, owners manual, maintenance log, and the original 1963 title in the original owner's name. Documentation also includes almost every registration receipt through 1996 and many receipts for repairs or maintenance performed on the vehicle. All of the documentation is pictured below along with several shots of the original owner in 1963 and in the late 90's. This car is 47 years old and does show signs of it's age. There is some minor body damage along with 47 years of dings. The car was backed out of a garage and rubbed most of the way down the passenger side of the body as can be seen in the pictures. However, there is no major damage and everything looks repairable using the original sheet metal. The doors open and close perfectly including the suicide doors and all of the body panels line up very well. The majority of the trim is in excellent shape and is all there. No signs of any body rust. All of the glass is also in excellent shape. The interior is also in reasonably good shape for a vehicle of this age. Seat bottoms and carpet were replaced in the 90's. Seat backs appear to be original. Door panels are all original and should be restored. Power window switches are missing on the front passenger side, but all others are there and the rest of the power windows are functioning properly....as well as the power wing window. Power seat and power antenna are not working and I did not try to identify the cause. AC is also not working as the belt is not on the compressor. I assume it was not working when the belt was removed. The original 430 cubic inch Super Marauder V8 engine has 99k miles and has never been rebuilt. The car starts, runs and stops, but I have not driven it farther than around the block. I had the carb and the fuel pump rebuilt, but a complete tune up is probably in order given how long the car has been sitting. No major leaks or problems that I can see mechanically. The power top was working, but last time I tried to use it I ran into some issues. I replaced the pump motor, one top cylinder and the top cylinder hose a couple of months ago and had it going up and down, but now I can not get the deck lid to go up. Hopefully it's something easy for someone who knows more about these hydraulic systems. The car is being sold assuming that the power top does not work. This extremely rare, well documented, one owner Lincoln is a great candidate for a full restoration or for a daily driver with some minor TLC. The reserve for this vehicle is set very low and this car is expected to sell by the end of this auction. For any questions please feel free to call Shawn at 713-628-5420. If you are in the Houston, Texas area please feel free to come by and inspect the car in person. Thanks for bidding and good luck.
