Vehicle Detail

Once in a lifetime chance to own an original Hagon Triumph Dragster kit as supplied by Sandy Kosman out of Daly City, California from 1967-68. I picked this up late last year and covered it in my Triumph enthusiast blog: showandgo-dot-blogspot-dot-com. Go there and punch in Hagon Dragbike in the search window to see all the information I've posted on these unique and rare dragbike kits. Originally made for Preunit Triumphs in 1966, the unit construction model came out a short time later and was only used in this configuration with seperate speedway fuel tank for 2 or 3 years before going to both fuel and oil in frame as listed in the 1970 Hagon catalog. Original fuel tank is in excellent condition with no dents dings or other damage. One of the large rear motor mounts was missing so I had a new set made from the original. Original plate included. I believe this dragster kit to be mostly complete besides minor hardware etc. Of the four head steady tube pieces one is missing, but there is the matching side to duplicate. The frame itself and associated parts is in excellent conditon. No old repairs, cracks or other problems. It looks to be absolutely original as supplied from Kosman. I have the original oil line that goes from the engine to the top of the frame with Webco rocker manifold that will be included as well as all the parts pictured. The rear wheel is the original included with the kit and features a Borrani Record Rim in excellent conditon with two flat head screws on each side for rim locks as originally done by Kosman as well as the modified brake plate. The original footpegs and foot controls are present. Some of the Hagon frames had a built in seat and some did not. This one did not and is meant to be run with a rear fender that the rider would sit against. I also include in this sale an incredibly rare 2.00 X 18" AVON Racing tire and Borrani WM0 Record wheel as originally used on Hagon Dragsters in the 1960's. The forks and front wheel that came with the chassis have suffered corrosion and I would replace with similar or better yet Triumph Terrier forks with the included racing wheel. It will be a job to pack and ship this up, but I will do so in multiple boxes. I will call it a flat rate of $100. Internation bidders: I will ship worldwide, but can NOT give shipping quotes before auction end. I will only charge actual cost, but be prepared to pay whatever it costs! On Jun-05-10 at 09:56:05 PDT, seller added the following information: This frame is for a Unit Construction Triumph 650 engine. On Jun-05-10 at 15:46:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention, the glass on the Smiths RPM gauge is broken.
