Vehicle Detail
I purchased this Trans Am in 2001 from the original owners. It's all original except for tires, battery, etc. The first owner ordered the car with virtually every option available including ice cold A/C, turbo 4.9 liter V8 engine, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, T-tops, WS6 suspension, 4 wheel power disc brakes, power steering, power antenna, alloy wheels, electric rear window defogger, tinted glass, intermittent windshield wipers, light group, exterior trim package, hood mounted turbo boost lights, and radio delete (a 1981 vintage aftermarket am/fm cassette stereo was installed when the car was new). This original California car has not undergone any restoration and is a true survivor car with original interior and original paint so it's not perfect but in very good condition. There's absolutely no rust on the body or undercarriage. The A/C compressor and blower were replaced at 83, 000 miles as was the turbo charger rebuilt and they function flawlessly. The engine starts up right away, runs smoothly, and has the right power. All power option are functioning as they are supposed to. The cruise control does not, however. The Goodyear radials have 3,000 miles on them and are in great shape. The seats have no rips or tears, and the padding is still firm. The dash pad has no cracks and neither does the console. There is some wrinkling in the headliner where the original owner glued part of it back up at some point in time. The spare tire has never been used and holds its 60 psi of air. The body and frame are straight and the car has not been in any accidents. There is a small dent behind the passenger door as seen in the picture and some minor scrapes and chips. The paint still shines but the screaming chicken decal is checkering. New decals are available through Phoenix Graphics. Overall this Turbo Trans Am is a very nice driver or a great candidate for a full or partial restoration. It was a very hard decision to make to sell this car but it's time to sell it to someone who has the time to really enjoy it. It's a real head turner. Mileage is documented 86,342 miles! If you do the free eBay auto check it says on the first page that the car has 178,000 miles. INCORRECT!!! Go to the mileage history and it shows twice 78,000 miles as the correct last odometer reading in June 1999. I have service and DMV records showing the car's current 86, 342 miles. I've owned the car since 2001 and it had just over 82,000 miles at the time.On May-29-10 at 13:40:07 PDT, seller added the following information: Front spoiler has a two inch crack in the center vertical crease.
