Vehicle Detail

I started with a 2002 Suzuki Intruder Volusia VL800, 2 Years and hundreds of hours later I have two bikes in one. When I stared this project my vision was to create multiple looks with one bike, how cool would it be to have one bike that you could swap out “skins” to make a totally different looking bike? The first project is what I call the Gothic Low Rider with slopping fenders and spiked accents. The second theme was easy; being a Muscle Car fan it was only natural for me to create the “Corvette” edition bike. Here’s what I’ve done, remember every colored part on the grey Gothic Low Rider Bike has a matching blue component on the Corvette edition bike. · Original gray Gothic Low Rider: Ø Removed the rear turn signals, brake light and license plate holder from the fender Ø Filled and painted holes in rear fender for shaved custom look Ø Replaced & relocated brake light & license plate with a custom curved license plate and brake light assembly, left side mount Ø Replaced original “Dog Bones” from mono shock suspension and replaced with custom bones slamming the rear suspension more than 3”, seat height is just 23” from the ground! (original bones included if your over 170 lbs. or plan on having a passenger you will need to install. Ø Replaced OEM foot controls with chrome forward controls giving a stretched out care free feeling when riding Ø Removed OEM pipes and replaces with Cobra Drag Pipes with removable baffles, I prefer the drag pipes without baffles, loud pipes save life’s J Ø Had custom French stitched seat made adding to the low rider theme (original seat included) Ø Mounted bullet custom rear turn signals to struts using existing strut mounting hole Ø Replaced stock handle bars with 1” ¼ drag bars Ø Ran all electrical through handle bars for sleek chopper look Ø Replaced original head light with bullet custom style, crafting a one off aluminum mount Ø Relocated all of the OEM wiring (originally residing in the head light bucket) under the tank adding to the custom theme Ø Replaced front OEM turn signals with bullet style fabricating a one off aluminum mount Ø Removed OEM clutch and brake cables and sent out to be braided and clear coated Ø Shaved brake & clutch levers removing the traditional ball tip to a spike then had polished to chrome finish Ø Replaced OEM hand grips with bad ass billet spikes Ø Removed both hand control housings and had polished to a chrome finish Ø Over laid kill switch, turn signals, high beam and starter switches with chrome leaf tape giving the entire front end a chromed out finish Ø Replaced OEM neck covers with chrome covers (where the started key is placed) Ø Replaced OME mirrors with Arlen Ness mirrors Ø Tank logos are decals and can be replaced Ø Milled off OEM writing on brake reservoir and polished to mirror finish Ø Removed handle bar switch housings and had professionally polished. Ø Every inch of this bike has been buffed and polished to an incredible brilliance – “run she may shine she must”. Let me tell you, this shaft driven liquid cooled monster will not leave you on the road side. · 67 Corvette Blue Muscle Car Edition: Ø Paint is Corvette Blue, with many coats of clear that has been wet sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. Ø Complete rear end assembly replaced with a M50 Suzuki Boulevard including fender frame and mounting struts. Ø Crafted mounting bases for the original Corvette emblems on tank, these can be removed if desired. Perhaps replaced with “SS” badges? hummm Ø Removed rear turn signals, license plate holder and license light leaning down the back end and further exposing rear tire. Ø OEM brake light is tucked under fender with awesome array of large LED lights Ø Custom shaved Suzuki C50 front fender to match the sport / race theme of the rear end Ø Color matched a set of Arlen Ness mirrors, custom head light and all body covers Ø Laid gloss black racing stripe in vinyl that can be removed Ø Pin stripped gas tank, also removable Ø Accented rear & front brake hub with red pin stripes for that 60s Red Line tire look Ø Accented speedometer bezel with red pin striping This bike is currently built up in the Muscle Car edition. Within a day bike can be completely changed over. Everywhere I go on either styled bike I always have people admiring or asking questions, including Harley riders! She not a trailer queen, dam close with just over 9700 miles winter is long in Michigan leaving plenty of time for detailing. There are some imperfections. On the Grey Gothic Bike I backed into a curb cracking the bottom of the fender, I try and show it in the video as I’m going over the parts on the floor. It’s not that noticeable, also front fender same style bike has a scuff from storage on the front left side also pointed out in video. Muscle Car Edition is in awesome shape!
