This auction is for a Classic 1981 Suzuki SP500 Dual Purpose Motorcycle. Bike is used and Vintage 1981 so it is not perfect, but a very nice example and survivor. Bike is street legal and comes with clear Nebraska title in my name. It starts easily and runs well through all 5 gears. Has decompression lever for easy starting. Horn, turn signals, brake switches, ignition and lights all work. Original seat is very nice, clean and has no tears. Seat has original "Buddy" strap for passenger. "Buddy" pegs on swing arm. Tires have been replaced within the last year. Wheels run true and have minor scuffs and scratches from normal use. Has tool box mounted on left rear frame with original Suzuki tool kit inside. Chrome grab handle above tool box. Fork seals and dust covers are new. Steering head bearings are new. Has helmet lock and steering lock. Fenders are original plastic and have some scuffs and scratches from normal use, but in very nice clean shape. Fuel tank is very very nice, has the original paint with only a few minor nicks, and is clean inside with no rust. Ignition is CDI, no points to adjust. Side covers have original paint and are very good condition with a slight scuff on the right side (see pic). Exhaust is original with no holes. Has original metal skid plate on the lower front frame area. Mileage is just over 4900. The motor has some paint missing from normal use and the age of the bike (see pics). Some parts have been media blasted and repainted. I see no parts missing. The bike is located in Lincoln, NE which is directly off Interstate 80. On May-24-10 at 11:17:50 PDT, seller added the following information: This is a 4 stroke and runs off gasoline only. No mixing of gas and oil like a 2 stroke. I am dissatisfied with the quality of the pictures after they were uploaded to Ebay. The real colors of the bike are more vivid than the pictures show. My original pictures are not light. Respond if you need me to send you a specific picture for color comparison. On May-25-10 at 10:46:27 PDT, seller added the following information: These 500cc bikes are designed with an oil filter because of the larger size engine. I have some spare oil filters that come with the bike. Because of the size of motor, this bike can keep up in today's traffic easily unlike the smaller cc bikes. I do have an owner's manual and service manual that go with the bike.
