Vehicle Detail
I bought this car as a project a little over a year ago, but due to a move that requires me to store it at my parent's house, and other financial needs arising, I must now sell it. Overall solid condition, in the last year I have replaced the following: Fuel line & coupler Left front wheel bearing Front brake pads & right front caliper Left front axle (threads were stripped on original) All new belts + spares included. When I had it inspected, I was told it still needs the following: Front shocks Cap, rotors, plugs radiator hoses Front stable shock ( old one was just hanging there, had it removed.) Still drives just fine. Rear brake cylinders ( current ones reportedly leak, though I have witnessed no loss of brake fluid or stopping power, brakes stop very fast & well) car has a trans fluid leak, in addition to a small power steering pump leak. (However, it does not appear to leak any oil.) Also, three headlights & all taillights have stopped working, haven't had time to investigate, could just be blown bulbs / fuses. A/C condenser was stolen out of it while sitting before I bought it, as pictured. When I bought this car, it had been sitting for about a decade. Most of the car's problems stem from sitting that length of time. From what I can tell, it was repainted shortly before being parked, also had new tires, vinyl top, CD player, true dual exhausts w/ Cherry Bomb glass packs (rumbles nicely at idle, roars when you open the secondaries) & other small improvements done. The odometer states 66,500 m.i. I have no proof of this being original or rolled over. Though, borrowing the deterioration from sitting so long, the car appears to be low mileage. Engine will start & run smoothly, no stumble or miss & plenty of power! Engine is stock carbed 500 c.i.d. Drives well also, but I would recommend towing if you are far out of the area, it's still a 38 year old project car after all. Exterior notes: Though repainted around a decade ago, sitting in the sun for that length of time has taken it's told on the paint job. Clear coat is peeling in many places. Body does not appear to have any cancer, any & all rust spots I could find have been photographed. Bottoms of the doors are rather clean for a car of this vintage. Some rust bubbles visible under the vinyl top, pressed around & couldn't feel any serious issues. At some point the car was in a very minor front end collision, which slightly bent the center portion of the bumper, and in turn, cracked the grille. As pictured, the front pass. side floor pan is weak in one spot, right in front of the front seat. It would be an easy fix, simple cut & weld. It's not in a complex spot to repair. Trunk compartment is very solid with only surface rust. Weatherstripping leaks, which causes it to look as it does. But there are no holes or bad rust spots to be found, only surface rust. Interior notes: Dash board is in very nice condition, except for one crack on the top. Chrome is still very nice & looks crisp as a whole. Leather seats are dried out, but not too badly worn, top of rear seat has sun damage. Carpet is nice with very little wear. Car includes installed CD player & amp. Only equipped with front speakers, though. This is how I bought it, previous owner had a system in it that wasn't included in the deal. Rear deck has holes for 6x9s & full wiring. I know this was a lengthy description, but I wanted to list everything I could think of, so there are no surprises for the new owner. Though I like this car very much & think it has great potential, I must sell due to a financial crunch & lack of space. If not sold by the end of this listing, it will be sent to the Knoxville TN Pull-A-Part, in hopes of at at least providing parts for other Eldorado caregivers.
