Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a beautifully restored 1967 Austin Healey 3000 Mark III. The rotisery, frame-off restoration was completed in 2008. The car has been driven only 20 miles since completion. The car was restored to original factory specifications following the Austin Healey Club of America Concours Guide, the factory parts manuals and the factory shop manual. Every piece, down to the nuts and bolts was stripped from the car for restoration. The British nuts and bolts were cleaned and plated prior to being re-used in their correct locations. The engine, transmission, carbs, distributor, starter, generator, brake calipers, brake master and slave cylinders, clutch master and slave cylinders, shocks, and steering box were rebuilt to factory-new specifications. New chrome 72-spoke wire wheels, radial tires, brake pads and shoes, stainless steel exhaust, U-joints, radiator, hoses, wiring harnesses, ignition coil, battery, brake lines, fuel lines, and fuel pump were installed. The interrior was professionally restored with new black leather upholstry identical to the original, installed on new seat seat tracks and seat frames with new foam padding. New dash pad was installed over refinished walnut instrument panels. Instruments were rebuilt. Horn curcuit and button replaced with new on original steering wheel. New carpeting and new chrome fasteners were installed. Convertible top bows were restored to new condition and the convertable top was professionally installed and is new with clear rear window. The original BMC radio retains its original faceplate but has been re-built as a modern AM-FM radio. The entire structure was stripped to bare metal and panels replaced as necessary. There is no corrosion and no patch panels. The car was completely primed with epoxy primer and professionally painted in the original British racing green color. Chrome trim, interrior and exterrior door handles, window cranks, windshield frame, bumpers and over-riders were replated or replaced with new. New weather stripping was installed. The door and windshield glass is original and has scrape marks but was retained because they have the correct factory date codes. I have a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate documenting the original build-data. I also have many spare parts that will be included with the car including transmission, overdrive, convertable top frame, windshield and frame, electrical components, and several instruments. The restoration was photo-documented and I have most of the receipts. NADA guide values this car at over $90,000. I have over $70K invested. It's time for me to start a new project and I am willing to part with it at a major discount. You won't find another like this at this price and as the economy recovers the prices will increase.
