Vehicle Detail
1986 BMW 325es 5-speed manual coupe with high efficiency, great mileage "eta" engine; sports package (leather "recaro" seats and side panels, limited slip differential, rear spoiler, etc.), rare BBS 14" Basketweave wheels and more. Only a limited number of these vehicles were made for US import in '86 & '87. For the full story of the e30, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_3_Series_(E30) Add-ons include: (1) Magnaflow Cat-Back Stainless Steel Exhaust System ($665 cost) see details at http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/displayapplications.asp?partnumber=16536 (2) Alpine CDE-102 Stereo Receiver w/CD ($180) w/ speakers. Has removable faceplate, USB Ipod plugin and it plays mp3s/WMA/AAC. The Good: I bought this car in Oregon in January and its only problem was weakness in the brakes and the fact that for some reason 5th gear would not engage. All brake parts were checked and were fine except for the brake master cylinder which I replaced and which completely fixed that problem. I drove the car 1000 miles south on I-5 and have been driving it all over SoCal with no trouble until last week. The Bad: Last week the shift lever suddenly started having too much play and the shift panel started moving side to side. Suddenly the shift does not want to go into gear properly, but when it does go in it engages fine. Could be the shift linkage or some other tranny issue, but I'm in the process of moving and don't have the time or energy to deal with it right now. So, I'm selling the car for a fraction of its worth and "my loss is your gain". The Ugly: While 95% of the leather (seats, side panels, etc.) is in fine shape, part of the bottom of the driver's and passengers seats are completely worn out. Terms: Cash in person only in exchange for clear title and bill of sale. No smog paper since it has Oregon title. Note: Since shifter is not working properly at this time, the car will need to towed to your location from where it is at (Westlake Blvd. off HWY 101, 4 miles south of Westlake Village). If you have AAA Plus, the 100 mile free tow radius will cover most of the LA metro area. Please email if you have any questions or would like to schedule an appt. to see the car before bidding.
