You are bidding to purchase a 1962 Mercedes-Benz 220 Sedan. It has a six cylinder engine with dual carburetors and a "three on a tree" manual transmission. The odometer reads 70276 Kilometers but I am not sure if the odometer has been flipped yet. I purchased the vehicle on 1/17/2007 and have the Mexican Title in my name. I had the vehicle painted when I bought it to provide temporary body protection but I have not had time to give it the full custom paint job that it deserves. The upholstery is not in bad shape for its age. I drove the vehicle to the USA to begin the restoration process and the front windshield and driver side front headlight were broken by vandals on its first night here. This vehicle is extremely rare and I suspect that the damage to the vehicle was an act of jealousy. After the vandalism, I locked the car up on the side of my house and started the engine about once every couple of months. (I could not drive it around with the broken windshield) It has consistently started on its own up until this winter. It will need some carburator work and a couple of rubber fuel lines replaced before it will be able to run on its own again. The engine will start and run momentarily if gas is manually introduced into the carburetors. This vehicle definitely screams elegance and will continue to appreciate in value as the years go by. Summary of parts/services needed before the vehicle is ready to hit the road: Front Windshield, Driver Side Front Headlight, Tires, Battery, Carburator Rebuild, Rubber Fuel Lines Replaced. Vehicle delivery is not included with this sale. The buyer will be responsible for picking up the vehicle once it has been purchased. The vehicle will need to be picked up with a flat bed trailer or a vehicle dolly. A tow bar will not work since the front tires are not holding air very well. The rear tires are holding air. Pay Method - I will accept payment any time after the auction has been won but will not allow the vehicle to be picked up until the full payment is recieved. I will allow two weeks maximum after the auction has ended to pay for and pick up the vehicle.
