1986 FORD RANGER This Ranger 4X4 has less than 38,000 original miles and is equipped with PS, PDB, A/C and an automatic transmission. The body is straight and the floors and cab mounts are sound. The V-6 engine seems to run pretty good and the interior is clean. The bed has a few rusty spots as do the cab corners and fenders. The truck has been stored outdoors since new so there are some rust issues. The front coil spring pockets are pretty rusty and need replacing. I have heard this is common on these trucks. There is some rust through on the front frame rail behind the right spring pocket. The rear spring hangers are also rusty. The rest of the underside looks solid. I started some work on the truck and have replaced the rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders, hardware kits and parking brake cable and lines. The rest of the brake lines need to be replaces so the brakes do not work! The truck also has the original tires which are dry rotted and need to be replaced. I bought the truck to repair and drive but I have too many projects. I have never driven the truck on the road but it does yard drive. This would be a nice truck to repair or for parts.
