Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1965 Corvair Monza convertible. Until two months ago, it was used regularly three seasons per year and garaged for the winter. A recent setback while doing some engine work has now made it un-drivable, and quite frankly with another project car underway, I don't have time (nor storage) to deal with fixing it. While I was driving it regularly, it does have a number of faults: There is lots of body filler on the drivers side and front panel under the trunk There is some rust on the drivers side door sill The drivers floor (at least) needs to be replaced The transmission and differential both have small leaks Speedometer/odometer don't work Paint is in poor condition It has the current problem (caused by me) - there is a tap stuck in one of the bolt holes for the alternator/oil filter bracket (see pictures). I'm sure this is resolvable - I just don't have the time/storage to manage it anywhere in the near future. The dash is cut where an aftermarket radio was installed That being said, there is some good stuff too: The top is in good condition (although there are some scruffs in the rear window) I believe the passenger side body panels, hood and trunk are in reasonably good condition - minor rust on the RR quarter (usual place) Interior is dirty but servicable Tires are in good condition New electric fuel pump Rear suspension rebuilt two years ago - all but one piece were sandblasted and powder coated (all new bushings, springs, shocks) Carbs rebuilt last year Performance air filter and exhaust from Clark's Just replaced the pushrod o-rings this winter Bottom line is this is either a great parts car, or a managable restoration project. I'm selling it cheap as I lost my storage and although I hate to get rid of it, I don't have much choice at this point. No reserve, but being sold as-is. Payment either in advance within 5 days of auction end via Paypal, or in cash if picked up within 7 days of auction end. Buyer is responsible for transportation and pick up arrangements. I have tried to capture as much as possible on the pictures, but please contact me if any questions.
