Hello Ford Thunderbird Roadster collectors and those who love 1950's convertible cars with FINS! Here is a nice, running, straight, "semi-restored" 1955 Ford Thunderbird Roadster with porthole top! THE FELLOW THAT I BOUGHT IT FROM PAID $14,000 AND MANY IMPROVEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE SINCE THEN. Hopefully, This is the one "light project" you're looking for! I only have it a few weeks and have driven it around the block a few times, you can not take on the road yet. The car starts every time with the new battery. The engine was supposedly rebuilt. It does not smoke from exhaust, new exhaust system with clear exhaust! But, it does blow some exhaust from under the hood, a friend suggests that it may need valve seals, he took off the valve covers and said it was VERY clean, which could confirm that it may have been rebuilt? The headlights & taillights work, but you'll need to connect just about everything else, there are some new wires running to places, you'll need to connect things! This car was upgraded to 12v . It has new gas tank, new exhaust & mufflers, new battery, new windshield, new Goodyear sport tires, new carpet, new trunk carpet, newly chromed bumpers, many new rubber parts which need to be installed and various bits like electric window motors, etc in the boxes of parts in the trunk! I just ordered the inside door handles which will be here on Monday. Radio was "restored" but not connected. Everything for a 1955, 1956 & 1957 TBird is readily available! On ebay you can get any part and I am also including a new thick catalog with every possible part you could need for this car at great prices! This car also comes with a nice original 1955 shop manual, original 1955 300+ pg. parts & accessories book shows pictures of every single part & # for the car(very helpful!), owners manual, and 1955 Ford sales literature book. The interior is quite presentable as you can see, far from perfect but certainly suitable for a driver. Nice original door panels. Engine turned dash trim. Certainly looks nice overall. Beautiful nos red Thunderbird mats. Trunk looks great inside! The car needs shocks as well as various other parts and trim that I may not be aware of. I'd call it a light and perhaps easy project, but that is subjective and depends on how handy one is! You certainly have the correct books to make things easier, and it is a pretty simple car! The leather Port-hole Top is in great condition! I have a new headliner in the box! The paint is fine for a driver, basically a macco type quick paint job, it is ok for a "play car" to drive around, to go to shows and car meets. You won't worry about a new scratch, you'll just drive and enjoy it. OR, you may want to do better body prep and a new better paint job if you are particular? I would just leave it and make the car a driver, if you do fall in love later along then you can improve it in the future. For now...It shines well and it's good enough for a driver! The bumpers have been rechromed and are beautiful. The neighbors were all coming over and telling me how beautiful it is, people definitely love the 1950's Thunderbirds! I am an ebayer since 1998 or 12+ years, I have 100% positive feedback. I am a fellow car collector for many years and this convertible was a good buy that crossed my path , so I bought it! Any cars that I have personally had over the years went to satisfied buyers! I am always fair & realistic. I priced this car to be a great buy with plenty of room for any needed bits. The fellow that I bought it from, bought it for his wife and paid $14,000!
