I bought this 2002 Honda XR50R new for my son for X-Mas 2001, hoping that he would take an interest in off-roading. He didn't. We went out puttering around on trails for maybe 5 days. . . I don't think that this bike has ever gone over 20 MPH! Obviously, it has never been jumped, raced, or otherwise ridden hard or abused. To give you an idea of how little use this bike has seen, it still has the original tires, and you can see from the photos that they are nowhere near needing replacement. In any case, as my son grew older, he became too big for the bike (duh!), so I put on a tall seat, a longer shifter lever, and a heavy-duty spring to try to extend the useable life of the bike for him. He is now 14, and the XR50R has sat in our garage for three years unused, other than me starting it up every month and putting it up and down the driveway to keep it lubed. I changed the oil on it every year just to keep it fresh. I would advertise this bike as "as-new" but it does have a couple of small flaws and, as our feedback demonstrates, we are careful to accurately describe products, so, for the sake of honesty, let's just say that it is "excellent." Let's put it this way. . . anyone who knows anything about bikes would guess that this bike was a year or two old. Included in this deal are the bike, the original seat and cover (in case you want to switch back to stock), the original shifter lever (ditto), and the original spring (ditto). It would take anyone with the slightest mechanical ability zero dollars and less than one hour to return this bike completely to stock. I will also throw in a matching off-road helmet (your choice, either small or medium). Title is clear and ready to be signed over to you. Bike is registered until June 2011. Bike is ready-to-go. All that is missing is a rider! I have started this auction out at $350 with no reserve, just to make things interesting. New, this bike would be well over $1,000.00 and, as far as I know, not much has really been changed on this model since 2002.
