I bought this car in April of 2001 from a young man I worked with. I was giving him rides home because he had just gotten and already lost his privilege to drive. I asked him about this car because you could tell it was just sitting there. It was his (a gift from his grandmother) and he wanted to sell it, his parents agreed and it was now mine.(136,xxx miles) I cleaned it up, serviced it regularly, drove it daily for aprox. 9,000 miles until early in 2002 when the engine thru a rod thru the side of the block knocking the starter motor off its mount. The car has been stored indoors until now. It still needs a new engine. It would be a shame to part it out, but they are all there minus the catalytic converter, which someone stole last year, and the battery. I kept this car because I really liked the way it drove, it is tight and solid, well handling and everything worked. The tires where new when I got it and are still like new. There is no radio, the previous owner had installed a stereo with big speakers in the trunk, and removed them before I got the car. The dash board had some cracks in it and the door panel on the front passenger door was messed up when I got the car and are still the same, but the rest of the interior is in good shape. The cloth seats are in good condition and the front seats are heated and the a/c worked. There is a manually operated sunroof. it does need a good cleaning inside. The car had a fairly new inspection sticker on it when I got. The exterior body only had one dent(drivers door) and a couple little dings in the hood. The right tail lense was cracked(pictured) and when I went to get the car inspected when it was due this was the only reason it failed. I called the dealer for a new lense($300+) , I called and found a good used one ($120) in a junk yard about 50 miles away. I drove down there right away, I needed to get the car inspected. I picked up the lense and while still less than a quarter mile from the junk yard the engine blew up. The junk yard had the closest phone. I told them what happened and they offered to let me return the lense and actually made me a reasonable offer for the car. I choose to keep the lense and call a flatbed to carry me home($200+tip). The lense has been in a box for 8 years, is still in good condition and is included with sale. The car has been moved several times, but has always been stored indoors until now to make this sale. PayPal is my preferred method of payment. Buyer is responsible for removal, The car will need to be towed. I do have a truck and trailer and may be able to deliver the car for less than a wrecker service, but my truck drinks gas and this would depend on the details of the trip.
