BIN $4500 Description 1995 BMW 540i I would like to start by saying what a fun car to drive and if this is what your looking for you have a great canvas to work with. Exterior: The paint is in overall good shape and seems to have been repainted some what recently with quality materials It does give off a nice shine when the sun hits it. There are some scratches in on the hood as well as the rear bumper which is has some fade also. There are some rust spots that were painted over which are noted in the pics. All areas can be corrected with either a replacement panel or have a body shop do it for you. There are no areas observed that are not fixable. You can find pieces such as a trunk lid in almost every junk in my area and probaly yours free of rust. The wheels on the car do show wear for their age and only the front driver is missing the emblem. Tires I would say would be only thing needing replacement soon. The car just had an alignment but does pull a bit due to the front tires having less than say 20% tread left on them. Another thing to point out is the passenger side skirt is loose on the under body and hangs a bit if you look from a high view point and the drivers door rubber on the bottom is from older E34 which they used a different material. It should be metal. The mirrors were replaced at some time and do not have power to them but you can adjust them by hand. But how often do you adjust your mirrors right? The headlight has a crack in which you can also see in the pictures. About half of the original tools are included in the trunk and only a small spare came with the car. Interior: The leather sport seats are in excellent condition with no cracks, rips, or tears other than on the drivers seat (pictured). The power seats are working with no uneven bends. The drivers extension works fine but no power on the passengers. All other adjusts all work fine. Rear seats are still like new. The original carpets are in place besides the drivers and the carpeting through out is in great condition with no stains or odors coming from them or anywhere else in the cabin. The power windows all work well except for the drivers passenger which does not roll down. Sunroof works great and no signs of headliner sag. Wood trim on all the doors I would say is in good shape for it's age but they all have surface cracks. The previous owner had a sound system I'm guessing from the wires in trunk and glove box but there is no longer a radio in the car. The car shows 116,667 miles on it but does have the tamper dot. I'm going to call this car TMU. I did find out though that the engine is a Alusil block which was replaced back around 86K mile per local BMW dealership research. The odometer is in working condition and the mileage may match the engines life. For purchasing purposes the state of florida for any vehicle over the age of 10 years is considered exempt from mileage so the title will state "exempt". The car runs and drives extremely well and turns heads at every stop light. The motor cranks right up and is strong, and smooth. The transmission shifts smoothly with no problems. The clutch performs well but I'm going to say replacing soon would really bring out it's power. It does not burn any oil or overheat. The exhaust is loud and screams down the road but seems to be because the exhaust has a leak somewhere in the system. It steers well, and brakes hard. Normal mid 90's BMW suspension wear present on the car. We have had it on the highway and it rides very well. The A/C is ice cold and works on all settings. This car has tons of power and is ready to Go!! This is your opportunity to own a rare car with tons of life left on her.
