Vehicle Detail
This beauty is up for Grabs and ready for a new home. I have a newborn and I put her in it once and is just not practical being a 2 door. Really hate to let her go but it would be just one less car in the driveway that wont be getting used. I have owned the vehicle since it was a 1 ½ old and I bought it from a dealership in CT with 34000 miles. I have routinely maintained this vehicle and had all the major services done such as the 30k and the 60k services. I have used only OEM fluids for the transmission and the rear diff and the haldex unit. I changed the oil every 3K miles with synthetic ONLY. There were only 1750 of these made in Reflex Silver and only 5000 in the entire USA. I have tastefully modded the vehicle such as the 5000k XENON HID lights in the low beam for better visibilty and a much cleaner appearance also. There is a EURO switch installed so you can have just the parking lights or fog lights on only instead of the conventional lights ON or OFF. The exhaust is stock with the exception of the resonator being removed for a much more aggressive sound note with a bite along with it. I have the smoked taillights currently installed but also have the OEM one still and they will be going with the sale of the vehicle. The vehicle is nicely dropped 1.5” on a set of Vogtlandt springs that were specifically designed for this vehicle and made in Germany and tested on the Autobahn for peak performance and stance. Now below I have listed a a little article to “express” on how the vehicle is. And yes I did make it sound really nice for you guys also. One of the most exciting engines ever to motivate a Volkswagen was the variable valve 3.2 liters-which produces 240 horsepower and is the heart and soul of the new Volkswagen R32, a kind of super GTI. In addition to the new-generation VR6 engine, the R32 features a six-speed manual gearbox and VW's 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, making the car very fast, very racy, and very desirable. The GTI remained the hot hatchback for several years, and now the R32 has come along to stir things up again. Only 5000 US spec R32 were ever made and only 1750 in Reflex Silver The base price for a fully equipped R32 is $29,675. The only extra-cost option available is leather upholstery, at $950. This is a little high for the guys who mortgaged their houses to supercharge their Honda Civics, but it's in the ballpark with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and the Subaru Impreza WRX STi. With an extremely nice interior, however, the VW outdelivers those two. It features very zoomy front seats, not unlike the molded seats one might find in a WRC rally car; perforated bright metal covers on the pedals, including the dead pedal; and a steering wheel that's as handsome as it is useful. The StandardsThe R32s come with standard equipment that includes a six-speed manual transmission, 4Motion all-wheel drive, a power sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, a Monsoon CD sound system, and automatic climate control. An electro-hydraulic Haldex coupling attached to the rear differential supplements front-wheel drive with rear-wheel torque under certain conditions. The R32 interior is exactly what you'd expect from Volkswagen, inasmuch as it has shown the way in interior design and furnishings for the past decade. VW's hot little R32 looks like .. a Golf.. It's a gussied-up Golf that rocketed right past the GTI model. The R32 has side skirts, a lowered front valance and wraparound rear bumper, and a little spoiler above the rear window. It's fully functional, with good head room and leg room. And if you don't bury your foot in the accelerator pedal, it can return 26 miles per gallon in highway travels. Not bad for a fire-breathing dragon that looks like a sheep and snarls like a wolf. Open the door and you're greeted by some serious seats. Koenig sport seats, with huge side and thigh supports. You don't sit on these seats; you sit in them.. Buckle up and get ready to roll: Under the hood of the 2004 VW R32 is a 240-horsepower VR6 displacing 3.2 liters. It's coupled to a quick shifting six-speed manual transmission that sends power to all four wheels all the time. VW calls it 4Motion. Crank it up and .. wow the sounds! The exhaust noises are nothing like the dual glasspacks favored decades ago. These sounds are raspy, angry, popping and snarling like a swarm of angry wasps. Interior trim uses metal accents to offset leather, and the pedals are metal with the signature "R" itched into them. The "R" is repeated on each of the car's four seats, and badging is used both front and rear. No mistaking this special speedster. There are front and side air bags for driver and front seat passenger, plus side head curtain bags. A sunroof is standard. For all the power in this little performer, it's the sound of the exhaust that leaves the greatest lasting impression. It's the sound of today's power. Not from a big V8, but from a high-revving little engine, in this case a V6. The sound urges a driver to go faster and faster. The throw is short, almost like that in a Miata. The sound so entranced me that I never once listened to the Monsoon stereo system; I preferred the rasp. I even left the standard air conditioning off much of the time, preferring both windows down. You get the idea. It's a great sound for a driver. The self-dimming rear view mirror is awesome with the 2004 VW R32 - the middle-rear-seat head restraint blocks the view through the rear window but I had that removed for more visibility. At night, the instruments are lit by blue light and needles are bathed in red. It's quite a show and the best color combination for night vision. A need to scrub power will be aided by standard anti-lock brakes.
