Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This Convertible Coupe is extremely rare with only 633 being produced in 1965. New for 1965 were headlights that are recessed behind glass panels, a new grille and the car continues with the simulated spare tire bulge on the trunk lid. These cars were built with a sticker price of $6,194.00 and weighed a whopping 5,345 pounds. They were equipped with a 413 cubic inch, 340 horsepower V8 engine with a 4 barrel carburetor. This car has factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power seats, A/M radio, column shift automatic, clock, and a power convertible top. The odometer reading of 71,483 miles is believed to be correct. This rare car is Persian White in color with black interior and black Haartz cloth top. The top and interior are new and in flawless condition. The floor mats are original and interior hardware is original but it is still in extremely presentable condition and could be rechromed if so desired. Factory seat belts are also present. The Lucite on the steering wheel is original and has yellowed and cracked over time. The power seats are fully functional, and there is power to the windows but they sometimes stick and flawless operation would simply require that the terminals in the switches be cleaned. The original glass is flawless and shows no sign of delaminating. The doors open and close properly but the internal linkage for the driver’s side exterior door handle will need to be reattached. The trunk compartment is 100% correct with jack and full spare and has been restored to as-new condition. Other items included are an extra gauge cluster, the two plastic pieces that form the parade boot in excellent condition, original shop manual and extra a/c control switch. The underside is very clean and presents in driver condition but is very clean and honest. This Imperial Convertible starts, runs, and drives very well and the motor displays a good amount of torque when the motor is revved. The 340 ponies are not only produced aided by the four-barrel QuadraJet carburetor but also by the dual exhaust. The exterior chrome is original and displays even pitting throughout and some rub-through on the bumper. The exterior has been repainted and the paint is peeling on the passenger side fender with a few other minor flaws pictured. Enjoy a beautiful summer nights ride and take pride in knowing your one of only a handful of privileged owners of these luxurious 1965 Chrysler Imperial Convertible's. This will be an exceptional driver on any sunny, warm day and can be upgraded to concourse condition with minimal effort. This car is sold with a valid Alabama registration. Please ask any questions PRIOR to bidding. Thank you for viewing and good luck!
