This magnificent rust free California car is a fine pristine example of a great American luxury road car, original in every detail except for one very respectable repaint. The car is finished in it's original royal blue patina with an added metallic touch. The body is very straight and rest free.This vehicle would stand out and display beautifully in ant future car show. 1949 was significant and revolutionary for Cadillac due to the introduction of the 331 c.i.d. overhead valve V8. This spirited 160 h.p. power plant was also used by race legends Allard and Briggs Cunningham in their famous race cars. Harley Earl designed the '49 Cad with tail fins inspired by the P-38 aircraft. This very rare survivor has always been garaged and is a three owner documented California car with registrations going back to 1965. The bumpers and all trim pieces are in excellent condition with some very minor pitting on two hub cabs and the passenger side rear window trim. The original mohair seats and door panels are in amazingly good condition for their age with some minor stains but not tears. The carpeting and trunk liner have been replaced to original specifications. The vehicle still has the original keys in their original dealer delivered case. The car was originally sold in May wood, Calif. This beautiful head turning Cadillac starts on a dime and idles so smooth that one cannot distinguish that it is even running.the car has 121116 MILES. I have recently taken a two hundred mile road trip and scored 18 miles to the gallon! A truly rare find for the discriminating collector. A 1971 gasoline receipt was in the glove box.
