Vehicle Detail
my friend owned this car since 2000 when she bought it off a tow truck driver who frequented her coffee shop. at one time this falcon was her daily driver in richmond, virginia. and she has driven this car up and down the east coast several times and deep into mexico and to california in 2003. over the years, numerous parts were replaced with either new or used parts depending and it was kept running with reliability. the engine was replaced with a used engine in 2001 that had great compression and did not burn oil. the transmission i had rebuilt in 2003. she stopped driving the car regularly when she moved to rural maine in 2005 and we made her a grease car. when parked, the inner seals on the rear axel were leaking, there is a hole in the gas tank and the exhaust manifold needed a new doughnut. the interior is shabby sheek as she reupholtured the seats and headliner with fuzzy material and replaced the dry rotted knobs with plasic fruit all in need of replacement. the car has had a little body work over the years and has been painted with satin enamel. there is a rip in the front left corner panel and some rust appearing on the door, but mostly it is a quite sound for a 49 year old car with only 74,307 on the chassis. last summer we started her up and towed the falcon to massachussetts to the orchard where we work to work on her, but frankly, i'm too busy keeping up with tractor and equipment maintenance to give it the grease monkey love it deserves.
