Vehicle Detail
Up for sale after a 2 1/2 year ground up restoration is my beautiful CONTINENTAL convertible.Due to health and now financial reasons,i must sell my small collection. When i first got the car,i sent it to the steam cleaner. When it was done, after removing 20lbs. of Texas dust(it came from the pan handle),it revealed a solid and rust free undercarriage and frame, with the factory undercoating still in tack.Next it went to the auto electric shop. The top mechanism and electric were restored to work as the did from the factory. Many new parts and rebuilt parts were installed.New window motors, new teflon window rollers and 10 new window switches(50.00 ea.).Over 10K was spent on these repairs alone. The next stop was to the front end and brake shop. The rear suspension was rebuilt with new leaf springs and new shocks. The front end was rebuilt with new upper and lower control arm bushings. Also new upper and lower ball joints and new shocks and sway bar bushings. Then the brakes were rebuilt. The rears got new wheel cylinders, new riveted linings, the drums were turned(they were standard),and a new rubber brake hose(from the diff. to the frame). The front brakes got new rotors, rebuilt calipers, new pads new rubber brake hoses, new inner and outer bearings, and new grease seals. Over 5K was spent here. The next stop was the body and paint shop. The front and rear bumpers were removed along with all the stainless and brite work. The body was sanded and all small dents and door dings were removed. There was no rust on the body. The body was then sanded and primered with a self etching primer, sanded again and primered with a primer for 2 stage paint. The body was sanded and shot with deep burgandy metallic base coat then sprayed with clear coat. Then it was colored sanded and buffed to a high luster. The stainless trim was polished and re-installed.The bumpers were re-chromed and re- installed. The last stop was to the upholstery shop where a new top and rear window were installed. When i got it back from the top shop, the front seal on the transmission started leaking,so off to the trans. shop where it got resealed. The engine runs smooth and quiet, the trans shifts smooth,it goes down the road straight with the steering wheel straight(doesn't pull to the left or right). The brakes stop smooth and sure. All the gauges work, the radio sometimes works, the clock keeps almost perfect time but the second hand doesn't sweep. The interior is in exceptional condition,I think the milage may be accurate for that reason. I have over 35K invested in the car.My loss, your gain.Thank you for looking and good luck bidding.Any questiones, call me 626-422-7510.Also,it has the rare potion of power bucket seats with the center console. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. On Apr-15-10 at 13:41:35 PDT, seller added the following information: as of april 15,2010 , i have a new cell phone number. it is 626-422-7510 thanks jack
