This is a 1971 Vw Convertible Bug. It is a super-beetle. It has a 1600 cc dual port motor with single Solex carb and original oil bath air cleaner. It runs very well and starts every time. The clutch engages very smoothly with no shakes and shimmies and no slippage. The throw-out bearing is quiet. It has an EMPI short shifter with reverse lock-out and the linkage is tight and solid. It has new front disks and rotors. The rear shoes are in great shape and recently adjusted. There is not a speck of rust in the body or fenders or pan. The battery pan has been replaced no doubt due to corrosion from the battery. The spare tire tray is clean and no rust. The jack supports and rails are clean and solid. The front and rear clips are solid and rust free with no damage. This car is very straight and clean. People stop me on the road, at the store, gas station etc... to look it over and enjoy the coolness and share the compliments. The tires and wheels and hubcaps are newer and very clean, tires are excellent. The seats are excellent with no rips tears or cracks. The carpet is new. the Glass is also great with all four windows cranking and operating. The car needs a new convertible top. The original is non existent. I have the original glass window with gasket and moulding. The rails and boughs are good and operate as they should. The car is in a primered condition and near ready for paint. The front deck lid handle, moulding and emblems are shaved and weld filled (very clean). The rear fenders are custom widened three inches on either side and done very well, clean welds and sanitary! Please come see it, feel it, taste it, drive it, LOVE it!!! All window, door, and deck gaskets, scrapers, and rubber is off car due to restore process. The original rubber and such is mostly there but also includes all new components. The odometer reads 55,300 but I am NOT implying it is the original miles. The car did sit in a garage for more than ten years during a restore effort but the older gentleman who owned it did pass away and his wife sold it after a few years. The defroster plastics are disconnected but are accounted for and present. The pictures for this car are current and from this week. The pictures do not lie, this car is clean and straight, no surprises. I know you will not be let down! The front end has a shimmie at 43 mph and then smooths out at 52 mph.
