Slipping behind the wheel and firing up the engine on this 2004 Chevrolet SSR Roadster; you can feel the power of the 8 cylinder engine with the legendary classic look of 40’s styling. With only 31,008 miles this truck has been meticulously cared for since new and chauffeur driven by my personal chauffeur of 10 years, Daniel. The SSR also has a unique provenance as it was one of Michael Jackson’s favorite vehicles to ride in. He loved going for a drive in it. On Halloween in 2008 Michael and a close associate drove around my neighborhood of Hancock Park. Michael thought the truck looked a bit like the ‘Batmobile’ from the Batman series. I live around the corner from the mansion that was used for the movie “Willard” (one of Michael’s favorite movies) on Lucerne St. (see photo) so he decided that the car should be called the Bat Rat! Michael was obsessed with that house creating stories that there were creatures and aliens in the house. Michael often came to the house and asked to be driven in the Bat Rat to the Victorian house on Lucerne and 6th streets so he could go; as he called it “in search of creatures and aliens.” I am Dr. Arnold Klein who not only was the doctor to Michael Jackson but a personal friend for nearly 30 years. I will provide the winning bidder with a letter of Provenance asserting that Michael Jackson rode in this vehicle along with the Willard story. This SSR was his favorite of all my vehicles. Michael was a real treasure in my life. I would have kept this car forever but Michael’s untimely death makes it too painful to keep the car. The color is black with a black/dark gray interior. It is in immaculate condition no damage in or on vehicle. I just had my staff put a new battery in vehicle. The car is registered and has gone through California Vehicle Smog Testing. Transportation at the winner’s expense can be arranged or my staff will work with your transportation people. Car is sold as is with no explicit warranties.
