Up for auction: my 1975 Mercedes 450 SL. This car has been a pleasure to own. I have recently retired and we are planning to move to a condo. No more 5 car garage. It's time to sell some of the cars. This is a nice 450 SL that is ready to drive. The engine is strong, runs on regular gas, and it doesn't burn any oil. The automatic transmission shifts are positive. The seats are in excellent condition. The car is stock except for a great sounding Alpine Radio/CD player with two extra Sony 6x9 Speakers mounted in the back shelf. All four tires are like new and all match. The car comes with the original removable hardtop which is really nice in the cold weather. I'm including tow spare tires mounted on matching wheels. I have the original owners manual. I also have a shop manual and records of work done on the car. I have just had two new catalytic convertors installed.The window glass is in good condition and the electric windows work. I have a clear Wisconsin title and the car has recently passed the state emission test. The convertible top is OK (see photo) but it could be better. I did buy a new German cloth top but I never got around to putting it on. It is still in the box. I will include it with the car. Also, the air contitioner needs to be recharged. I never had the need to have air because I have the top down all summer. (I don't drive it on rainy days.) Finally, I want to mention that there is a small 4" flaw in the paint on the hood that is hardly visible. I can't deliver the car so if you win it you pick it up. I'm located 35 miles northwest of Milwaukee. If you went to fly into Milwaukee I can pick you up at the airport and you can drive your Mercedes home.
