Vehicle Detail
Your summer toy awaits Beast from the 70s! Check out that great looking "root beer" color Many new things have just been added in March and April 2010. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE You can see by the Ramsey Power Take Off Winch mounted on the heavy duty bumper, that this Bronco means business. It has a 302 V8 Engine under the hood with a 2 barrel and headers to dual exhaust, backed by a C4 Automatic Transmission. Up front, there is the stronger Dana 44 front axle. In the rear, it has the Ford 9”. The transfer case is the “J-Shift” Dana 20.Suspension is stock height. The winch is activated by a cable on the dash. Apparently, the trick is to put the transfer case in neutral, shift the actuator on the front of the winch clockwise, pull the black knob on the dash, and then put the transmission in forward or reverse gears. There is a driveshaft connecting the winch directly to the transfer case. While I have never used the winch personally, the previous owner told me that it works. The previous owner also told me that he rebuilt the 302 engine and that it only has 8,000 miles on the rebuild. When the engine roars to life it sounds good! Previous owner says he rebuilt the C4 automatic transmission and that it also has 8,000 miles on it. Somewhere along the line, a power steering system was added with heavy metal skidplate. I was told that it has Positraction Differentials, front and rear-- to verify this, I jacked up the front and rear ends and turned the tires; they spun the same way on the front axle and on the rear axle. Not sure about the ratio; I can check if you like. I tested the 4x4 out, and it pulled pretty good. HARDTOP IS INCLUDED. HAS NEW WHITE PAINT. New Paint: floors, doors, dash, windshield frame, under hood, exterior. The windshield glass was pulled for paint. Bronco was completely primered, block sanded, and painted in catalyzed urethane. New Chrome trim: New chrome trim, new mirror, new bronco emblems, new headlight chrome rings, new tail lamp chrome, and new letters in the grille. Also has new 302 emblems on the fenders.New chrome bumper in the rear New aluminum 15x8" slotted SLT Mag Wheels with new Kumho Radial 31x10.50x15" Tires that have under 20 miles on them and were put on in April 2010. New InteriorPrevious owner told me 302 Engine has 8,000 miles on rebuildPrevious owner told me C4 Automatic Transmission has 8,000 miles on rebuildPower Steering (added)PTO Winch with aircraft cable, hooks, rollers, and heavy duty bumper New windshield. The glass was taken out for paint, and it has a new rubber seal. The interior upholstery is new, as you can see. It is a leather looking material that has a neat looking houndstooth pattern in the center. It was done in the month of March. Front bucket seats, and a rear seat too. The carpet was installed at the same time, in addition to the door panels and rear interior panels. The dash was also recovered. New door panels, new rear interior panels, new kick panel upholstery, new door straps w/ chrome trim, new armrests, new window cranks. New Grant GT Steering wheel. New fender flares from Tom's Bronco parts, all around with new rubber weatherstrip underneath. C-Bushings have been changed to Rancho units. The lenses have been replaced on the sides and in the grill. The grill is the better looking ’68 style with the inset parking lamps. It also has a new 72 month battery, new starter, new ignition switch, new solenoid, new fuel pump, new power steering pump, new voltage regulator, new air cleaner. My experience with the bronco: It has started up quick, sounds good, no blue smoke, took me around the city, and stopped when I hit the brakes. Not everything works on it-I know the horn doesn’t. The wipers do work. (vacuum) There is no radio. A small rectangle has been cut in the dash for your new system. As far as leaks go, I haven’t noticed any messes under it. Everyone seems to have a different purpose for owning one of these, so let me know what specific concerns/questions you have and I’ll do my best to answer. It isn’t show quality and the panel gaps are not perfect. It’s not a show car. Paint is not flawless- here and there you can find a defect when looking up close. This is a USED 36 year old car, not a new car. The technology is 20th century, not a high performance sports car, don't expect it to be. These vehicles were built by Ford as utility & farm machines, not for driving 80 mph in a slalom competition. There wasn’t too much rust, it had the typical floor rust in the front which now has new metal that got welded in. Aside from that, there were just a few small spots. It did NOT have the rot holes under the hood on the inner fenders like many of them have. This little bronco will likely still need some maintenance, TLC, love, work, and pampering, as most old cars constantly do- realize that all classic cars will need upkeep, maintenance and work to be what you want them to be. It is a 36 year old off road 4x4 vehicle. All damage, defects, and battle scars are included. This is not a $50,000.00- $100,000.00 restoration like you saw on cable TV. If you want a 50,000.00 flawless classic, then go spend that. If you want a realistic price for a realistic vehicle that you can have fun with, then buy it.
