This car has been a part of our family for more than 20 years. Our interest is not in getting the maximum dollar for it. Rather, we seek a loving, collector, enthusiast home who fully appreciates the remarkable abilities of the w126 S-Class Turbo Diesels and desires an original one as a daily-driver or occasional car. Our family's loyalty to Mercedes diesels began in 1971, when my grandmother came home with a 220D manual (in Red!), since then, we've owned nearly every model...240D, 300D, 300D, 300CD, 300TD, 300TE, 190D, 190E, and several 300SDs. The SDs were a real achievement for us. My father and two uncles both drove them - one to nearly 500,000 miles. This is the last one, and our lifestyle does not allow us to take proper care of it. Retail in March,1983 was $37,970 and we have the original brochure to confirm! So, before it begins to fade, we seek a new home. By the way, if you plan to drop a V-8 in it, think your local Pep Boys will service it for you, don't have a proper place to keep it or think it would make a great first car for your kids...DO NOT BUY THIS CAR! Please see pics for more details. Can send a cold start video to serious bidders and many more pics. Feel free to email questions of any kind. FYI -we have used this on three family trips of 1,000 miles or more in the last five months. It was perfect each time - incredible. A time warp experience, averaging 28 miles to the gallon at 75-80 miles per hour. WOW! We are antiques dealers in the Virginia Piedmont near Charlottesville. Clean Virginia title and personalized tag can be transferred to Virginia residents. The car is available for local inspection by appointment - we'd be glad to meet you. Buyer will make a $500 deposit in 48 hours via PayPal and balance due in seven days or upon pick-up. Glad to work with shipper of your choice. Or, fly in and drive it home! Many thanks for looking, and for considering this wonderful automobile.
