Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 2009 Nissan GT-R. This car has served me amazingly well over the last year and a half. Please read this entire description as there is a LOT to know about this car and why it is priced the way it is. Here is some basic info:- Clean Title (held by bank)- 3 Owners- 43,6xx Miles (won't change much, not a daily anymore)- One Accident Reported- One key- All original manuals Premium Package Including:- Navigation- Bose Sound- Heated front seats- iPod integration (30 pin connector in glove box) Modifications- Mechanically Stock- DBA (2012+) Rear Valance w/ Carbon Fiber Fins- Zele Carbon Fiber front lip- Zele Carbon Fiber grill - Autotechnik Aluminum Tow Hook- Tail-as-a-Turn mod installed- Carbon wrapped spoiler (starting to peel, I can remove this if you wish)- Carbon wrapped roof (still in decent shape, can be removed as well)- Car originally came with black seats. I swapped them for the CBA gray seats and had the inserts diamond stitched with white stitching to give the interior a two-tone look. I bought the car from a dealership in Reno, NV in August of 2017 with 19,000 miles on it. This car was my daily for the first year of ownership. My commute to and from work was only a mile long, but it did see a lot of freeway use as I drove this car EVERYWHERE when I bought it. I couldn't resist as it's such an amazing car to drive and so much fun to own. It gets a ton of positive attention everywhere I go from enthusiasts young and old. I have taken this car on many roadtrips between Northern Nevada and SoCal, which helped rack up the mileage. Around November of 2017 I took a new job in Oceanside, CA where I was provided a company car, so the car sat in a garage and was only taken out on weekends where I would drive to LA and to San Diego quite often (Oceanside sits right between the two cities). After that 6 month gig, I fully decided to move to San Diego, CA from Reno, NV and pursue a career in IT. The GT-R had since become my daily again, but I realized driving nearly 40 miles roundtrip in bumper-to-bumper traffic isn't anything like my one mile trip from before, so now I am looking for a more comfortable daily and may pick up another GT-R in the future when the budget allows. With that being said, there was a lot that happened between August of 2017 and now. Let me start with... The Bad - Early 2018, I was involved in my first car accident ever. My girlfriend and I took a little vacation to Lake Tahoe (Zephyr Cove area) and decided to take the GT-R with us. Over night there was a snowstorm at the lake, so we decided to wait until late afternoon to drive home. The roads were clear up until we drove through a tunnel, which had patches of black ice. We accelerated from a stop in the tunnel and as soon as we hit 20-25mph I lost control of the car. We slid over a curb, which tore off the lip and a chunk of the front bumper. The radiator core assembly was damaged in the impact as well. The car was towed to the place I bought it from originally and they performed all of the repairs. Total damages were upwards of $14k - 50% of that being GT-R tax. I have all of the paperwork from the repairs showing the front bumper, lip, all grills, mounts and brackets, radiator and radiator core assembly were all replaced. I was the only one involved, so my insurance company never reported this as an accident to Carfax, but instead reported it as 'damage reported'. The car has since driven perfectly fine with no issues and, that day, I learned to check the weather ahead of time! At least my girlfriend didn't dump me! - The issue that arose with the aforementioned accident is the front bumper gap (see photos). The armature assembly (located underneath the bumper cover) has a couple of mounts on the bottom, which hold in brackets that mount to the bumper's front lip to hold it up and stabilize it. This part was never written off in the original estimate, so I had a shop tear the car down for a field appraiser to inspect it, just for my insurance company to claim it wasn't a result of the accident and deny coverage of the part. I fought this claim many, MANY times and USAA continues to deny it, so I have decided to just move on and find a new insurance company. Anyway, the gap isn't terrible, and it doesn't affect much at all. I have taken the car in for trade-in quotes and nobody has ever noticed it. The bumper is still securely mounted to the car, so it doesn't rattle or shake when driving. I have already bought brand new brackets which cost over $400, and they'll be included with the sale in the event I don't source an armature assembly. - Fast forward to June of 2018, the SAME DAY I get my car back from the shop from the first accident, I was involved in ANOTHER accident, this one not being my fault. I was in an intersection with two left-turn lanes - I was in the right-left-turn lane, and the other party was in the left one. I proceeded to turn left, and she continued going straight which ended up clipping my driver-side rear quarter panel. The quarter panel was resprayed and the rear bumper cover was replaced. This is where you'll see the accident report on Carfax. I have receipts for this incident as well, and all repairs were done locally at ACG Automotive in San Diego, CA. - Front bumper VIN tag doesn't match the rest of the car - I while ago I put a DBA (2012+) front bumper conversion on the car to update the looks. I have since sold that conversion to my friend and took his CBA (2009-2011) bumper back - the one that is on the car now. It's in great shape, with the exception of the unfortunate blemish in the carbon fiber lip (see photos). The carbon grill piece also has some slight fitment issues, but they're not noticeable. - There are a few dings and scrapes here and there - most of which are shown in the photos above. I have tried my best to keep this car clean and free of scratches but some chips and dents are sadly unavoidable, especially in a daily-driven car. There are some very minor swirl marks on some spots of the car as well. I have had the car machine polished and paint corrected in the past, so the paint is in relatively good shape. - At the time of listing this post (when I took the car out for photos) I discovered that the radio was no longer working. I can connect an iPod, flip between stations just fine, etc but there is no sound. Research shows this might be a blown fuse in the back of the head unit, which requires disassembly of the entire center console to get to. I have yet to do this and sadly don't have time to get around to it right now. Just my luck I guess! The touch screen still works fine and all gauges work fine as well. The Good - The car has been well-maintained, and I have kept every service receipt in my ownership. Here is a summary of ALL maintenance from Carfax and my receipts combined: 07/30/2008 | 10 Miles - Delivery Inspection12/03/2008 | 548 Miles - Maintenance Inspection Performed04/04/2009 | 978 Miles - Maintenance Inspection Performed06/17/2011 | Unknown - Oil + Filter Changed07/20/2011 | 7,661 Miles - Pre-delivery Inspection Completed08/24/2012 | 9,239 Miles - Oil + Filter Changed03/14/2015 | 15,130 Miles - Maintenance Inspection Performed03/22/2017 | 18,492 Miles - Oil + Filter Changed - Transmission Fluid + Filter Changed - New Battery Installed07/27/2016 | 17,819 Miles - Maintenance Inspection Performed03/22/2017 | 17,819 Miles - Maintenance Inspection Performed08/04/2017 | 19,011 Miles - The day I bought the car. The dealership had all 4 brake rotors and pads replaced, new tires installed, and did a fresh oil change for me before taking delivery. 08/25/2017 | 20,335 Miles - Cooling System Serviced12/16/2017 | 26,686 Miles - Oil + Filter Change02/23/18 | 31,241 Miles - Oil + Filter Change08/31/2018 | 38,147 Miles - Oil + Filter Change09/12/2018 | 40,176 Miles - Full Alignment Done10/18/2018 | 41,964 Miles - All 4 Brake Pads Replaced with Hawk HPS Pads11/27/2018 | 42,409 Miles - Transmission Fluid + Filter Change 1/8/2019 | Unknown - Brand New Battery Installed The next oil change is coming up in the next 1,000 miles. The next transmission fluid flush isn't due until 60,000 miles. The brake pads are good for another 18,000 miles or so, depending on your driving habits. The rotors show no cracking but should be replaced at the next brake pad change. - I have never taken my car to a track, or a drag strip in my ownership. I have done quite a few highway pulls for fun, but who wouldn't in this car? - This car has NEVER BEEN LAUNCHED. I had ACG Automotive in San Diego hook up their computer to the TCM to show this - feel free to contact them for proof or I can bring the car to them when they have time to hook it up again. They're an incredibly busy business so an appointment would be scheduled a week out or so, but it is doable. - The car will come with DBA wheels which, in my opinion, are better than the ugly CBA wheels. You'll most likely swap them out for some HREs, or maybe a set of Advans ;). The tires are factory Nissan GT-R tires (dunlop runflats) which I got from my friend. He claimed he has 20k miles on them, but the tires have a lot of tread left. I'd say they're at 40-50%, but I will go to a tire store and have them inspect the tires to be safe - standby for that information! - The car is 100% stock and has never had any race fuels or E85 put through it. It's been a California/Northern NV car so 91 octane has always been used. - All electronics (except mentioned above) work great. There are no dead LEDs in the gauge cluster and the touch screen still works which are common issues in 2009 GTRs. Side Notes - Bell housing rattle is definitely present. It isn't bad, but it's there and noticeable. This is a common noise on all GTRs. - The transmission is a little jerky when warm. I believe the car is still on LC1 or LC2 software, so it'll lurch and jerk around from a stop in 1st gear much like a single-clutch transmission would. It's not fun, but once you're up to speed it shifts extremely quickly and smoothly. - The Navigation unit is still on 2007/2008 maps. I use my phone and never felt the need to cough up $500 for the dealer to update it. Conclusion Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns, extra photo requests, etc. I will reply as fast as possible. That being said, I won't accept any offers via PM or anything of the sort. I don't have time to deal with lowballers. And PLEASE don't show up without funding in hand. I am happy to provide test drives for those who have funding and have placed a deposit on the car. If you wish to buy sight-unseen, please understand this car is sold as is and I will not accept returns. I will be happy to do a walk-around video of the car running in case you can't come check it out in person. I will release the car when I have funds cleared in my account. The title is held at a local bank, so I will have that shortly after the transaction is complete. Shipping is at the buyer's expense, but I will be very happy to take the car anywhere in San Diego to be picked up. With all of that being said, I wish everyone a happy beginning to 2019 and hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Thank you,Austin
