This vehicle was purchased by my father in 1993. He maintained it well and rarely drove it. It spent most of it's life under his carport and with a cover on it. The vehicle was declared a loss after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 even though there was no evidence of flood damage at the time. There were flood waters near the house but none inside and the car was under the carport near the house. He purchased the car back from the insurance company, changed all the fluids as a precaution, and continued to drive it on occasion. The car was issued a Reconstructed Vehicle Title. There are a few minor problems that we are aware of. The soft top rear latch does not always catch and probably needs to be replaced. The tires have plenty of tread but over 10 years old therefore should be replaced. There is a small crack in the rear bumper and some minor paints dings in various places. The most significant is that the battery must be disconnected after use or the battery will drain. There is some sort of electronic issue that continues to draw on the battery once the car is shut off. We are ready to sell this vehicle to a good home. It is probably not a collectable with a Reconstructed Title but with a little minor maintenance this can be a real nice weekend driver for someone that appreciates a low mileage Allante.
