For Sale is my fathers 1996 Ford Bronco XL. It has 73,000 original miles. This truck was originally a Nassau County Parks Department Vehicle. It was maintained like a county vehicle, but it was mothballed when they got their new fleet in…….When I purchased it, it needed some minor repairs. Those repairs were addressed and I gave the truck to my dad. Well, he barely used it…….since 2015 he had only driven it 4000 miles.He loved this truck because of all the compliments he got when out with it, but he just didn’t need the truck so aside from some occasional driving it just sat in his driveway. He has decided it is time to let the truck go to someone who will use it and enjoy it so now is your change to get into a pretty nice original full size Bronco..........I hitched a ride to my parents house, checked the tire pressure and drove it from his house in Pennsylvania to Long Island NY with no issues. The interior of the truck is very basic. Manual windows, no cruise control, manually shifted 4WD. Amenities are sparse but it does have factory a/c, automatic transmission, am/fm radio and auto locking hubs. The drivetrain is all original down to the exhaust. Everything works, and it was a pleasure driving it to my house for 4 hours…….no issues except a oil pressure switch that worked when it wanted to. The body is wearing its original paint, the only rust issues that I have noticed is the drivers side wheel lip has starting to blister and the rear tail gate has signs of rust. ( photos of those areas are in the auction, but detailed shots can be provided) The only significant rust that my father had repaired was a soft drivers side floorpan and rocker. Looks like a pretty good job, but again I will provide detailed pictures on request. The truck seems to be in very good condition, frame looks good, suspension components look good. and aside from surface rust from sitting around, it shows very well. This is not a barn find, but it is a clean original truck with pretty low miles. If I were a bronco guy I would keep it……it constantly gets compliments when it is out and about. You can go any direction you’d want with this truck……garage queen, show truck, mud truck, trail truck…..its not so perfect that you’d be afraid to use it as it was intended, but if you’d want it perfect, it wouldn’t take too much.I urge bidders to inspect the vehicle before bidding, my opinion and yours will differ.A $500.00 non refundable deposit is required at the end of the auction.
