This limited-production 1999 MAZDA MX-5 MIATA TENTH ANNIVERSARY EDITION (TAE) 2-door, 2-seater sports car has been an important part of my life since July 2006. I'm a vintage motorsport journalist so have had opportunities to drive some exceptionally fine cars, but I must say that I was always delighted to get back behind the Nardi steering wheel of my Mazda MX-5 Miata TAE. It's great fun to drive on twisty backroads for that quick and stimulating get-away while offering firm road control. Mine has never been raced, but after driving it along our local rural roads I can appreciate why the Miata has a competition racing series of its own. I love this car and have been happy to shower it with care and attention these past 30K miles that I've owned it. Now, after 12 years with me, it deserves to be driven and loved by someone new. It's far too terrific to spend most of its days lounging in our garage. Bottom line, it's a 4-wheeled joy that keeps on giving with every new road mile. This car has only been used for recreation, and has not been driven hard or over-revved. Oil changes and safety inspections have been timely. When I took ownership of the car in 2006 I bought the new TAE Mazda Blue top with defrost-heated glass rear window to match what was on the Tenth Anniversary Edition when new from the factory, and since then the car always has been garaged when not driven. The top is raised and lowered manually in less than ten seconds, and there is a folding air-dam to help keep wind from the necks and backs of both driver and passenger during driving. The car's very effective air-conditioning and heater systems are wonderful comfort-pluses whether the top is up or down, summer or winter. The car has a Clear Title under my name, and it passed its every-2-years DMV-required Smog Test on April 17, 2018.
