This 1957 Metropolitan coupe was recently brought back to life after many years patiently waiting in a dry shed. Originally a Nash design, by the time this car was built the Metropolitan company was making them. It was designed to get very good gas mileage using a British Austin engine while all the US makers were making big gas guzzlers. This car runs and drives great. Its got all new: brakes, hydraulics, tires, fuel sending unit, electric fuel pump, alternator, plugs & wires and a new leaf spring. The fuel tank was cleaned and all the gauges work. Every mechanical system has been serviced, replaced or repaired. The only thing that does not work is the horn. The paint was originally blue and white but a former owner thought yellow and white was better. The paint job could be called fair. The cloth seat cover is homemade but very serviceable.
