Very clean, original, early CB450, nice patina, motorcycle has been sitting for close to 30 years in a very dry shed. Not running since 1990. If you are reading this ad you know what it is. Great restoration candidate. Engine turns freely, unmolested. Selling off a small collection of an old friend whose health is failing. Obvious issues, crack in upper steering clamp, bent brake pedal, inside of tank is rusty. Motorcycle is for sale locally, reserve the right to end the auction early. Reasonable reserve for condition. What occurred in these exchanges revealed that the numbers on the engineshowed it to be a 5 speed from a 70 model bike. This was a surprise to me, It really didn't look like anybody had laid a wrench on it. Still my mistake. There are many bikes and a lot of parts I have just started to go through. So earlier this week I found the original bottom end and the head both will be included in the sale. So while not completely original as it sits most of those parts will be there to take back there if that's what the buyer wants. If the intention is to ride it, you could certainly make the case that you'd be better with the engine that's in place. But, that will be the next owners call. So everyone is on the same page. The Vin# stamped on the head tube is CB450-1017883, a typo is on the title, but the numbers are correct. The engine in the bike reads CB450E-4005597 although the last two numbers are hard to see.The original numbers on the bottom end are CB450E-1015386. There has been a lot of interest, and several "buy it now" offers, but I promise the auction will run to completion. On a separate note I live in the crosshairs of the named storm rolling across the country. It will hit us about time the auction closes, power outages common in our area, so if I don't respond immediately after the auction closes, don't worry, I am probably without power.
