1951 Triumph 6T Thunderbird Pre Unit ISDT Flat Track Tribute MotorcycleHere is a gnarly rigid I built over the winter as a tribute bike. Based upon the 1950 International Six Day Trials which was held on the Isle Of Man UK that year.Triumph entered a Rigid framed 6T engine in a 500 frame. I built this bike from an assortment of rare vintage parts primarily as a static display and pit bike. You may have seen me tooling around at such places as Mid Ohio, Wauseon, Davenport and Barber on it. It is really a custom self created machine. Almost every part is hand modified or created by myself. Including frame breazins, hand stitched leather seats, paint ( the tank was a new Wassel Banana at start). The engine was torn down carefully to preserve patina all the way to the crank shaft and built back up. It is a 1 kick bike. Trans was also assembled from the cases up. It includes a sprung hub which has been inverted to eliminate function and lower stance. The bike runs well. It could be modified for street use by a handy knowledgeable mechanic. It does not have a charging system or battery. These could easily be added once sourced. The front forks have not been rebuilt but this could also fairly easily be done. It is a blast to tool around on and watch eyes widen, grins grow and feet back up. I have won several awards with it due to its authenti looking nature. The frame is a 1951 and engine 1950 6T or Thunderbird. It is titled as a 1950 6T. Clear title provided upon pickup. $500 due instantly upon auction close.
