Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my wonderful CE. After 3 years of ownership I'm letting it go to aid in funding equipment repair for my business. I have roughly $10K in receipts for mechanical work done when I purchased the car; previous owners did nothing to it, and it showed. Almost everything underneath is new - hoses, lines, brakes, shocks, a/c (compressor and condenser - upgraded to R134), valve seals, misc gaskets.. too much to list. Car runs and drives very well. In addition to the car itself, I have a spare rear hatch window, a spare set of the correct T-tops (with new seals), and a spare wheel. You know - for those "Oh Sh**T!" moments. I started installing new weatherstrip last year on the hatch, t-tops and window surrounds. I have the door stripping available, just haven't installed. New seat foams and leathers, along with a new repro steering wheel installed this past year. Carpet is excellent - very little fading or wear. Door cards in good shape, some cracking as expected, but very presentable. Hatch operates, but needs struts, which I would advise against as the struts are a known problem for 'pushing' the hinges out of shape. As I don't use the hatch as a hatch, I never bothered changing the struts. No water leaks, but it only gets wet when I wash it anyway :-)Paint is 8/10; Car had been repainted at some point in a previous life with a base/clear. The striping and pinstriping are/were hand painted and cleared under - looks better than the decals! The car is weather tight. I've not had water intrusion at the window seals unless I'm aiming the hose at full power at the corners. Even then, it's a drip. These cars, even when new, leaked. Rear hatch seal is fine. The passenger side window seals when door is closed; will not close all the way to the top when door is shut (and window down and put back up). Adjustments have been made as much as possible, and the 'dragging' is put to the new seals not having "set" yet to the car. It doesn't bother me as the car doesn't see rain anyway. The only non-functioning item in the car is the radio aerial. I had replaced it when I bought the car, it functioned for about a month and stopped. I believe there is an issue with the antenna relay within the wiring; since I never use the radio (antenna), I disconnected the power to it and left it in the down position. With the extras that go with the car, I would suggest to pick the car up in person along with some way to haul the extra parts. Cash is king, Paypal or certified funds ok.Car is listed elsewhere, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Vehicle sold where-is, as-is. Local bidders encouraged to view and drive! On Aug-26-18 at 05:31:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had questions on the "wetness" of the underside of the engine. It's a 36 year old car. There have been leaks over the years - oil, coolant, transmission. A recent weep from the speedometer gear drive has been fixed. Valve cover gaskets were replaced when the valve seals were done. This is not a trailer queen - this car is driven.
