Vehicle Detail
Sadly I was planning to make this into a little vintage rally car but have too many projects and need to focus on finishing my Alfa. I purchased it from a friend who also had too many projects and wanted to get it going. It sat for many years in sunny San Jose California and has a California title and it's original Black plates. The good:No rust in the chassis. One of the rear quarter panels has a tiny rust spot on the sheetmetal that's typical but very minor.Ton's of parts all included. New Dash, Old original seats, Two Engines (both 1100 one's from a R10) Two Transmissions (actually transaxles (one's original and the other is from a R10), new brake rebuild kits, two fuel tanks, both cleaned and boiled. A whole spare set of brakes and front suspensionNew seats. Rear seat is one I purchased and is a 9.9/10. Looks brand new.Front seats are new and haven't been installed.2 sets of seat rails. One set have been restored.Interior has been stripped of old insulation and new dynamat installed.Great HeadlinerSpare windshield and rear windowSpare set of (all 4) doors with interior trimSpare rubber seals. Not installed. If I get around to it I might have these installed soon.New TiresSpare tire is actually original. It's amazing!Clean California title with Original Black PlatesThe badThe original paint is blue and I was planning to bring it back to that color. The yellow repaint is old and looks cool in that patina sort of way. But not cherry. There are a few dents here and there. It's not running. I pulled the original R8 motor to put the other R10 motor in and haven't done that. It will need a new water pump, distributor and motor mounts.I pulled the brake calipers off to rebuild them. I have the kits, they're cleaned but haven't finished the brake rebuildIt has a title but isn't currently registered. It's been out of the DMV system for decades. The R8 is a perfect candidate for a restoration or just do what I was gonna do. Make it into a weekend toy. I wanted to build a vintage rally homage to the Gordin cars. Even go through and make the rear subframe a TS (twinshock) They sell a conversion kit. It's a weld on bracket. I'm happy to share all my sources and knowledge. I'm in San Mateo, CA and happy to show the car during the auction. If you want to ship the car I'll meet your shipper to pick up.
