Vehicle Detail
1966 Marina Blue Chevrolet Chevelle being sold with "No Reserve" Would make an incredible Super Sport Recreation! This Classic Chevy up for auction would be the perfect candidate for a Big Block Super Sport for an affordable price. I'm sure all the real Chevy guys out there know how hard it is to find a Marina Blue 1966 Chevelle in this condition at a reasonable price nowadays. If you simply double click on the main picture of the auction page then all 24 pictures will be able to be viewed in the larger size by clicking the arrows on each side of the larger pictures. The reason I took the picture of the Chevelle in front of the local Barber Shop is because that business actually opened up in 1966. This is the first time this Chevy is being offered to the public on eBay. I will explain everything I found out from the previous owner at the point of purchase. According to the elderly woman I made the purchase from told me it was her pride and joy. This Chevelle was always covered and stored in her garage when not in use. I have always garaged this blue beauty during my ownership. The original 1966 Chevrolet Owner's Manual, 1966 Special Accessories Guide, and the 1966 Owner's Protection Guide will all be included in the glove compartment. According to the previous owner that owned this rare Chevelle for almost three decades had this classic repainted somewhere in the mid 1990's. The paint still appears nice and shiny, but if you get up real close you can notice some minor imperfections. I would consider the paint in nice drivers quality condition. From everywhere I looked on this Chevelle I never saw any signs of it ever being in an collisions, and the floors and frame are in very good condition. They don't come much more original than this. In my eyes anyone would be proud to show up at any local car show. The clean and clear title is in my name issued through the State of Ohio. This Chevelle was built in the first week of May in 1966 at the Atlanta, Georgia General Motors Plant. I do have a copy of the previous title that was issued January 27th, 1990 to the woman I made the purchase from. According to this prior owner, this Chevy does have the original numbers matching engine and all the components on the engine are believed to be original. The original carpet is in very good condition, and the entire interior looks in really nice condition as shown in the pictures. The front bench seat has no rips or tears and is still nice and comfortable as well as the back seat area. There is a brand new set of four black carpeted floor mats. All the factory seat belts are still present. These early 60's muscle cars have incredible investment potential, and have been referred to as rolling bank accounts. When these cars are upgraded properly into a Super Sport model they command big dollars if the new owner ever decides to sell. Most any of these parts are now readily available at a wide variety of new aftermarket muscle car parts suppliers of identical replacement parts. The original dash pad is in good shape. Fortunately this dash was never cut up like was typically done to these cars back in the day and still sports its original AM Radio. This Chevelle already sits up awesome with the proud stance of a Super Sport. There isn't even a crack on the beautiful steering wheel. This 230 engine starts right up and stops well. The Power Glide transmission shifts smoothly. It is truly a pleasure to cruise around town in. Any winner is surely going to be the pride of the neighborhood, and most likely anywhere you drive the thumbs will be up. This Chevelle was never taken to a drag strip and beaten like the majority of these cars were back in the day. Even the headliner looks extremely nice. This Chevy was very well taken care of for a car being over 52 years old. The original trunk floor had a minor repair many years ago, but it was done properly, and the trunk floor does appear in nice condition as shown in the picture section. It was coated with gray and aqua spatter spray to make it appear factory correct. The trunk does carry a full size old school ply spare tire. Quite possibly the original spare tire. There is the original jack, jack stand, bumper mount, and crow bar in the trunk on a new trunk mat as well. There is a set of four brand new Firestone Firehawk raised white lettered tires mounted on Chevy Rally wheels with all four center caps, all four beauty trim rings, and a set of 20 chrome lug nuts. All of the chrome still appears very nice on this car, or in very good drivers quality condition. In fact there aren't really any hard to find chrome pieces that I can think of that might be missing. What you see is exactly what you get! These mostly complete older classics that have survived for over 50 years are becoming harder and harder to find. Especially in Marina Blue!! The Nada Classic Car Price Guide currently has the 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle listed at $30,300 in high condition, which they consider an excellent overall vehicle that was completely restored, or an original vehicle showing very minimal wear. Note: This value does not represent a 100 point show car or a #1 vehicle. Those vehicles can reach much higher prices. They have the average condition valued at $23,600, which they consider in good overall condition that could be an older restoration or a well maintained original vehicle that is completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. They say an average condition car is considered a 20-Footer! They have the lowest condition value at $13,950 being considered a deteriorated restoration or a very poor restoration, but mostly usable "As-Is!" The lowest value does not represent a parts car, but would be considered as the price for a car needing a complete restoration. According to the Nada numbers the condition of this Chevelle would be considered closer to the average price range. The Nada numbers don't lie! This Classic Iconic Chevelle Muscle Car is a very valuable automobile. Don't miss your chance to own a nice clean one for yourself. It really wouldn't take all that much to bring this classic up to the next level. This car is for the guy or girl that always wanted one back in high school, or had one and wants to show off at their next high school reunion to prove how cool they still are. Why pay the crazy prices of a fully restored Super Sport when you can own the same looking car for a reasonable price. Here is a prime opportunity to acquire your dream car at an affordable price. This car is being safely stored indoors out of the elements just like the prior owners must have done over the last half of century to keep it in such good condition. The deposit will need to be paid within 24 hours, and the balance is due within 72 hours prior to the pick-up or transport of this car. The title will be sent out the same day the funds are clear, or be kept in the glove compartment with the original owner's manual for transport. Whichever way the winning bidder decides. I know my descriptions can be a little long winded, but I try to list and accurately portray everything I can think of when I write a description. This way every potential bidder can make the most informed decision prior to placing their bid. If you feel I may have left anything out please ask as many questions as you like. I pride myself in answering every question in explicit detail with the utmost honesty. Ask questions and you will receive honest accurate answers. I'm a motivated seller, so this hard to find Marina Blue classic muscle car is being offered at "No Reserve" on a 5-day listing, and will sell to the highest bidder on Sunday evening at 10:00pm Eastern time, 9:00pm Central time, and 7:00pm Pacific time. Thank You for taking the time to read and view my auction!!! Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!! On Aug-01-18 at 16:36:16 PDT, seller added the following information: I apologize for mentioning the option to double click on the main picture and all 24 pictures would be able to be viewed in the larger size. That has always worked in my previous auctions, but for some reason that option is not working in this auction. I was having issues uploading pictures, so maybe that had something to do with it. I've seen this happen to other sellers auctions, but never on one of mine. It was unintentional!
