1959 Ford Galaxie 500 Retractable Hardtop Convertible. Unrestored Project Car that Runs good, does not smoke. I have installed a new battery. Has had work from a previous owner. I bought the car in March of 2017 with the intent of not restoring but to make a driver. Since purchasing the car my wife was diagnosed with cancer and medical bills must be paid, Ford must go to a new home. The work done by the previous owner appears several years old. What he had done was a new gas tank installed with sending unit and I was told brakes were rebuilt. Brakes are unsafe. They will stop the car for moving in and around your drive but not safe for driving. Pedal goes almost to the floor. Tires are old and unsafe for driving. Body is straight and looks like some metal work may have been done to the rocker panels at one time. All floors are solid see photos. The trunk floor and spare wheel well are solid. I do not have a lift and have a bad back so I will not crawl under the car to take photos. Sorry. The previous owner had all the stainless removed to paint the car and what is on the car is loosely installed and will require more body fasteners. Included is a lot of stainless to go on the car and some duplicate pieces. The long stainless over the left rear fender is missing. There is included a 2nd right side. There is a small curved piece of stainless over the left side of the windshield missing. The two locking plates for the rear roof lock down are missing. I believe but cannot guarantee all other pieces are included. The deck lid tray and motor are included but not mounted to the decklid. Two rear window cranks are missing. All side glass is good. Windshield has wiper marks that may polish out. All weather stripping is missing except deck lid seal. There are extra bolts and hardware, two tail light lenses, two top switches etc with the car. Old headliner panels included etc. The top did work by manually energizing the solenoids when purchased. Now the top retracts as shown in the photos and stops. The deck lid will fully open. When activating the top switch to retract the top a solenoid just clicks. I don't know which one. It should be an easy fix. There is a copy of a Retractable Hardtop service manual with schematics and photos included so should be easy to troubleshoot. Car shows 79613.2 miles. I don't know if this is original mileage and make not claim as to being actual mileage. The motor as with all old Fords has a minor oil leak and the power steering needs fluid and may need seals. This is an unrestored project car. It is not a show car and is not roadsafe. Older amateur paint job with nicks and chips but presentable. Buyer is responsible for arranging and paying all transport cost. Car has a clear assignable Mississippi title from the previous owner. I have never licensed or insured this car to drive.
