They were manufactured so they could be completed using Mini Cooper engines and other Mini parts. The fiberglass body includes a Mini cooper engine and trans axle, however it does not run, I do not know the engine size or year and I'm not sure what it would take to make it run. This is a consignment for a gentlemen who purchased it to build a race car, but never got around to starting the project. It has been stored indoors. We don't have documentation, but here is the story. The current owner paid for a shipment of surfboards from Australia in the early 70's to be sold at a surf shop and the Mini Jem was included in the shipment from the fiberglass shop in Australia. The Austrailan company was hoping he could sell it in the US, but our current owner decided to purchsae the car from the fiberglass company for himself since he was interested in racing. He made into a roller by adding Mini Lite wheels, but didn't go any further with the project and sat in the corner of his race shop. With this information, we have reason to believe this is one of the Taylorspeed kit cars from Australia, however this was approximately 1970-1973 and we have no documentation and cannot be certain of it's exact age, however it has remained in his possession for 40 plus years and stored indoors.It would make a great project for a vintage race car or street car.
