Up for bid is my 1978 Camaro with REAL LS7 XCH High performance 454 GM crate ENGINE GM part number 3965774 It is a 1978 Camaro with REAL LS7 XCH 454 GM crate ENGINE 3965774 that was purchased from GM dealer back in the early 1990s. It also has Hooker super comp headers, MSD ignition with Holley 1050 Dominator. * Engine GM PART NUMBER 3965774 over the counter LS-7 crate motor. Never disassembled. Just had intake, carb, and distributor installed. PN 3965774, 454CID, 12.25:1 compression, 4 bolt main block, 5140 forged steel crank, w/cross-drilled mains 3963524, 4340 forged steel connecting rods with 7/16 in. bolts, 3963552, forged high dome pistons, floating wrist pins, racing mechanical camshaft 3959180 (same as ZL-1), open chamber cast iron heads 6260482, balancer 3963530, standard flywheel 3993827, engine suffix XCH. Listed as 465BHP in GM catalog. Real dyno tests on you-tube on crate LS7 454s are verified at 575 to 600HP . In a heavy car like a full body Camaro or 1955 Chev they go in the 10 seconds 124 MPH range in the 1/4 mile. In a light car this engine can go 9:50 @ 140 MPH. Just google 454 LS7 XCH This car is a true high 10 second car full body stock interior car that runs easy in the low 120 MPH range as it sits. I have old time slips I found in the car from 1995 . * Fully built forward pattern Fairbanks TH 350 3 speed transmission with Fairbanks 9 inch 4,000 RPM stall converter. * Has a Strange built 9 Inch differential with locker posi and 4:11 posi. * Full dual exhaust with new Dyno Max Mufflers * Body is good and overall very solid. Excellent trunk. Has frame connectors and J bolt traction bars. Has some bubbles here and there mostly driver side door lower . I probably would repaint the lower body on the sides. Was painted back in the late 1980s. · Interior is in good and all stock Camaro configuration. Has factory working tachometer, factory tilt steering, factory disk brakes, power steering HOWE radiator, and all working gauges, turn signals ect. · * Has old school matching tires and nice cragers mags. Was only used for cruise nights and local Car shows back in the late 1980 and early 1990s * I Just had the car aligned, fluids all changed, new battery, Carburetor rebuilt, new master cylinder, and ready for summer. I drove the car and it is the fastest stock 454 over the counter engine naturally aspirated car I have ever driven. Starts and idles great first click and Revs clean to 7,000 RPMs. No leaks anywhere.
