Vehicle Detail
Hello,Here we go I guess. Saying typing this listing out as "having mixed emotions" doesn't do it justice. I have been wrestling with this decision for months. This is my 2016 1SS Camaro. Where do I start? I guess at the beginning. I placed my order for her in December of 2015 before the new generations were rolling out of the plant. I took delivery in early March of 2016. I've included one picture that shows her closer to stock with the grey wheels and the higher ride height. That's what she looked like before I started on the below "goodies".Tint - Side windows and rear. I believe it was a 33%. It was the least dark option available at the shop.Powder Coated Wheels - Completely changed the attitude of the car. They turned out perfect and they don't have a scratch on them.Wheel Center Caps - I included one wheel picture where you can see the new black / red Chevy center caps. These were purchased from Lupe at River City Creations.Light Replacements - I switched the rear license plate bulbs and the reverse lights with LED bulbs. I used a harness from gen5diy to connect the reverse lights. They should really roll off the line like this in Michigan...they look gorgeous.Front Splitter - Camaro SS replica by RPI Designs. Again, they should already come like this. Springs - Eibach Pro Kit. This was an incredible add to this car. Dropped her close to a couple of inches and really improved her stance. You can see the difference from the one picture with the grey wheels to all of the others. This kit didn't change the operation of the MRC at all. I would almost argue that it improves the feel and ride of the car being lower. I couldn't have been happier with this 1K mod.Sound Mat - I included two pictures to show you the sound mat material added behind the door panels and all throughout the cabin. There was a little labor here but again...this completely changed the driving experience of this car. She instantly turned into a higher quality, more of a luxury feeling, machine. You can't hear anything that resembles road noise. An unbelievable difference in before and after.Door Speakers - While I had the door panels off, I switched out the generic bose cone speakers for a nice set of Pioneer 3 ways. Better sounding sound system...check.The first couple of weeks I had her, I polished the paint down with a griot's random orbital...followed that up with blackfire crystal seal sealant. This is the main reason it's nicer than showroom condition. The paint absolutely jumps off of this car when polished compared to how they come from the plant...night and day. She's never seen rain. Still smells like a new car inside...never seen a french fry. The interior is basically stock. I added some GM floor mats you can see in the pics but other than that...I've been focused on the exterior. She's been in the shop twice. Once for an oil change and I also had the driver's side mirror replaced. There was an annoying wind whistle sound that occurs often in these early 6 gen cars...new mirror and it was gone. It's been adult driven and cared for. I can't even tell you how to turn off the driving assist nannies that would let you roast the tires because I haven't turned them off. The engine is just starting to loosen up a little now that it's getting close to 3k miles. Runs and sounds great...zero issues. I guess a little about the why if you are interested. I'm 45 years old and I spend just enough time thinking about general life expenses where I have trouble looking at her in the garage and not thinking "I need to sell". Keeps me from fully enjoying her. I have a freshman in college and a few more on the way the next couple of years. If I sell her, I'll have another one one of these days, but I'm probably 10 or so years from being able to enjoy something like this sitting in my garage. I'll be ok either way. Maybe if she doesn't find a new home I'll be able to look at her and know I tried. I have around 43.5K in her all together. My name is Curt. Send me a message if you'd like my phone number to discuss further. You'll be hard pressed to find a nicer 6gen Camaro out there.Thanks.
