Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is one of the nicest, well cared for 2002 Volkswagen Golf GLS TDI 1.9L 4D Hatchback Automatic with 119k miles. This local Central Florida vehicle with no accidents comes dressed in its original black paint over tan camel leather interior. It is completely ready to go with over $3,000+ recently spent on routine maintenance typically done between 100-150k miles. This wonderful fuel sipping Golf hatchback has been in the family for the past couple years during which time we have become huge MKIV 1.9L ALH TDI enthusiasts. There are a ton of different reasons to like these bullet-proof little cars, but nothing makes me happier to go 550-600 miles on a single tank of diesel in around town driving. It is also as hassle-free and low maintenance of vehicle you could ever want – just do your synthetic oil changes and go, go, go. Since we've owned the car it has been very well maintained with a significant amount of personal time and resources spent to keep it to original OEM specification. Whoever buys this car they will be getting one that will need very little routine maintenance over the next 100k miles. Basically all the expensive stuff has been done, including: timing belt kit, water pump, dynamic timing adjust, glow plugs & harness, battery, fresh coolant & hydraulic brake fluid, and new oil, fuel & air filters. Additionally the Golf rides super smooth & tight with new suspension parts, including: Bilstein shocks front & rear, new rotors & ceramic pads, new ball joints, strut mount, control arm, subframe bushings, tie rod ends and dog bone. All total this stands to save the next owner easily over $3,000 in parts & labor for future routine maintenance – much you won’t have to touch for another 100k miles. From a condition standpoint the Golf is in very nice overall condition – much nicer than the vast majority of MKIVs out there on the road today. This is a 3-owner accident-free, clean title vehicle that has only been owned and operated here in sunny Central Florida. Accordingly the unibody and undercarriage are 100% free from any damage, rust and or corrosion of any kind. A walk around the exterior the original black paint still has very good gloss & shine to it, but up close you may notice a few native Florida love bug marks mainly on the front end sustained before we bought it. Also the plastic front & rear bumper covers have a couple surface scratches – consistent wear & tear on a 2002 model year vehicle with all original paint. Again from 10 feet the original black paint still looks awesome, guaranteed to impress the neighbors. The 3-piece factory Volkswagen BBS alloy wheels are in great condition and come wrapped in Goodyear radial tires with approx. 75-80% tread remaining. Open the door to the smoke-free cabin you will find a tan leather interior with coordinating black trim. The seats are in pristine condition with only minimal sign of wear & tear on the front drive side bolster. The carpeting, floor mats, headliner and the door panels all look good with very little sign of wear & tear. Basically everything throughout the entire vehicle is fully functional with no broken parts, switches or levers, etc. Overall it will be hard to find a nicer “daily driver-quality” MKIV. For those unfamiliar with the Volkswagen Golf, its utilitarian 4-door hatchback design provides plenty of storage capacity along with 5-passenger seating. Being a GLS model means it comes nicely equipped with ABS antilock brakes, engine immobilizer, sunroof, one touch power windows, CD player and remote keyless entry. Safety wise, in addition to 4 wheel antilock disc brakes, it also comes standard to front, side and overhead curtain airbags (only available on luxury brand models back in 2002). Hands down though, the greatest option on this car is the insanely bullet-proof ALH 1.9L TDI turbo diesel engine. Not nearly enough can be said about the outstanding virtues of this superlative rock-solid turbo diesel platform, which is the ultimate combination of durability, reliability and incredible MPG. Just think how nice it would be to get 40-45MPG in city driving? Are you looking for a highway commuter? Well the MK4 TDI comes with an extra heavy-duty 4 speed automatic transmission designed specifically for TDIs that are geared to cruise effortlessly at 70-75MPH. If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call us at 352 459-1731. We aren’t TDI experts, but are darn close and will do our very best to answer any question you might have. We are absolutely stoked and thrilled to offer this Golf TDI for sale because it oozes value and is a surefire extremely low cost of ownership vehicle purchase for its next owner. Thanks for looking.
