Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1971 Camaro Z28. Genuine/ Real Z28 with a M22 4 speed.Car is nevada silver with black stripes. I am 3rd owner owner and have owned this car for approx. 20 years with a small exception (in 2001 I sold this car to a friend and bought it back after one year because he was going to sell it again and he gave me a chance to buy it back which I did). This car had one repaint in lacquer in 1988 and still wears the same paint job. The only exception is the hood that is on the car is polyurethane. The hood is a metal L88 and was changed in 2001. You can not see the difference in color at all. I have the original hood and it comes with the car (see photos). The body is excellent with absolutely no rust anywhere on this car. All body panels are straight. There is no reason to paint the car whatsoever. The fact that this car is wearing its paint job from 1988 is outstanding. This cars screams patina. This is not some redone cheap camaro. A lot of care has been put into this car over the years. The bumpers are perfect. The front bumper was replaced many years ago. The rear bumper has been on the car since I purchased it. All the glass is in great condition. The wheels are all original and were professionally done in the correct matted grey finish a few years back. As you can see from the pictures all four new tires were put on the wheels at this time as well. The interior is excellent. See pictures. Has original radio, full console. Correct gas pedal and gauges. The engine in the car was put in the car in 2001. The engine was featured in Hot Rodding magazine. I still have the magazine and article, etc... As the article reads to describe the engine:1969 -- 350 machined by Jefferson Town Auto Parts & Machine and built by Charlie Kaiser. A steel crank swings TRW 11:1 pistons fitted with Speed Pro plasma moly rings. A Competition Cams hydraulic 305 Magnum takes care of valve openings with .525-inch lift and 305 degrees duration. The remainder of the valvetrain is all Comp Cams; oiling is handled by Melling and timing is by Cloyes. The engine's upper torso boasts ported and polished heads also done by Jefferson Town and includes Manley valves, Comp roller rockers, keepers and retainers. A polished Weiand intake distributes the flow from the holley 750 double pumper. An MSD 6AL, BLaster coil and billet distributor control the fire. The engine was built to bulletproof proportions and makes plenty of power. The car runs strong and is fun to drive. One of the pictures is a picture of the motor from the magazine. When I purchased the car 20 years ago a a period correct 1971 350 was in the car. See pictures of the engine on a stand in my garage. As far as I can tell it is a 1971 LT 1 350. I also took some pictures of the numbers as well. This engine will come with the car as I believe it is important to go with the car. There is a pix of the LT 1 motor in the car from years ago. That is the same motor on the stand.I had planned on pulling out the engine and put the LT 1 back in. Just don't have time.Too many projects going on. I replaced the exhaust a few years back. There are California headers into flow masters into piping and tailpipes that are correct for this year camaro. I also have the original exhaust manifolds that will also come with the car. If the LT 1 350 is put back in at some time you can put the original manifolds on and just connect to the exhaust that is on the car now. Transmission is a M22 4 speed. When I first purchased car I had transmission taken apart and re-built. Never an issue with this tranny. I also had heavy duty driveshaft, speed balanced and joints put in a while back. The rear end I do not have much info on it. It was in the car when I purchased it and never had an issue. I do know that it is full posi-traction. Anyone is welcome to inspect the car prior to bidding. Also anyone can email and leave a number and I will call them back and explain anything. I will try to be as honest and upfront as possible. This is a real Z28 without question. This car has not changed hands many times and that is hard to find these days. This car has always been garaged and well cared for. This car always gets lots of attention wherever it goes. Good luck and thank you. Once the reserve is met the car will sell.Once the funds are cleared the car will be released.Cash is always best!!! ***** It is best to email me your name and number and I will call you back. This is the best way to filter out the scammers. Email through ebay and I will call you back to discuss anything. Best to see car in person. You won't be disappointed.*****On May-01-18 at 04:28:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to be clear the motor in the pix that is orange is on the stand. The motor featured in the magazine is in the car. I did state that in the original description but wanted to be clear. Thanks. On May-02-18 at 19:00:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Few requests for numbers on rear of engine block. They are: 3970010.Also on rear of motor just about where engine stand connects and by rear freeze out plugs numbers are: 01 and then right below 020.Feel free to email me if anyone decodes these. Thanks.
