Vehicle Detail
Color: Black Trans: Manual Mileage: 255,3xx Relisted Regrettably we offer our 1985 Saab SPG for sale. As it did on the showroom floor when we purchased it in Europe, it remains an elegant, timeless machine that collects the gaze and admiration of those who see it. This remarkable machine has taken us on wonderful adventures on several continents. It has vanquished countless kilometers on the Autobahn and Autostradas, flown over the Alps, gobbled up mountain passes in the Sierras and even ran down felons in San Francisco albeit, not on Divisidero of "Bullitt" fame. Today it's used as a DD and for occasional jaunts across the infamous U.S. 129 "Dragon". It has never been over-reved or, in the vernacular of Jalopnik, hooned. This car has been impeccably maintained by the same Saab specialist and SCCA champ here in Tennessee since 1992. It resides in a humidity controlled garage. The car has a clear title with an extensive record of work performed. Onlookers are amazed to find that the finish is the original paint, this owing to the fact that it has never been through a car wash and is regularly hand washed and clay barred. The interior has been redone in beautiful SaabStuff custom piped, perffed and embroidered leather. The headliner has also been recently replaced. The list of replaced parts is quite long but includes: rack, windshield, rotors 2x, shocks 2x, timing chain 2x, bottom end 2x and recently had a new R12 air conditioning system and turbo installed. It also comes with 5 perfect Ronal wheels. The worst that the car has endured has been that the driver's door hinge was slightly sprung and routinely repaired. The dripping air conditioner caused a spot of corrosion under the passenger floor that was cleaned and repaired by a restoration company. Otherwise it is corrosion free. The passenger lock was popped and the paint around the repair is cracking slightly. The clock doesn't work. Also the bun warmers aren't functional. And yes, there are some cracks in the dash. Body wise, there is a small dent on the driver's fender. The car is solid and functional. It rolls Bentley smooth and is an absolute joy to drive. It will be sad to see it go, but it's rarely used and time to find another home. Saab document case, Saab owners manual, Saab High Flyer Scarf, original Bill of Sale, shipping documents, spare Ronal wheel and car cover included.Numerous people have asked for more photos, particularly the right side and front. Also included is the pic of the dash cracks and the dent from falling 2x4. Other the slight damage from popped lock break-in, this is the extent of the body damage. The doors close like a bank vault.Hope this helps.Another interested party inquired about the place and size of the dent. The added pic shows it to be on the LF fender. I measured it to be about 20mm vertically and guessing about 2mil deep. It is not a crease. Fortunately I have never had to go to PDR, but from what I understand, this is exactly what they do. More photos added: right side, right side 1/4, rear hatch (hatch cover redone as part of interior update), damage from popped lock on passenger door, original paint on hood and hood medallion.
