Vehicle Detail
1988 Honda NX-650 Adventure Motorcycle This motorcycle has been in a climate controlled museum. This was Honda's 1st Adventure bike to the United States in 1988. The Transalp followed in 1989. The Transalp was better on the road and the NX-650 was better off rode. I'm the 2nd owner. The original owner was in his early-mid 70s when I purchased it. He only rode it around town once and a while. You will note He had replaced the OEM Dual Sport tires with Street tires because he said it road smoother. There is no sun fading - It's a time capsule. Only 4,768 original miles !!! Three sets Keys. The bike has not been crashed and there is no damage on the bike. The factory tool kit box - is key locked and inside the front of the left side skid plate. PLEASE Read all of the text below 1st - before asking me questions. Most of everyone's questions are answered below. My Master Mechanic & I Un-Mothballed recently, Changed the Engine Oil and Filter, It had new plug installed when it was moth-balled, then we flushed the Carb & Fuel System (Which had been Drained and Oil Fogged) and 1/2 filled the gas tank with NON-Ethanol Premium Fuel. We only filled the tank 1/2 way so you can see the tank's condition inside - it's very clean. The front brake system has been flushed out and new Honda Pro DOT 4 Fluid installed. With just a few seconds using the electric starter it came to life. There are no fuel leaks. Once warmed up a bit It idles correctly with the choke off. It Revs & Restarts fine. Shifts through all the gears perfectly. I've taken as many HD picture as ebay allows me to post with the auction. If you are a serious buyer & need pictures of something else not seen, you can ask. The bike is titled & licensed in Oregon and, because it's over 25 years old, I applied for Special Interest Plates. These plates are permanent and never have to be renewed - way Cool !!! If the bike sells to someone living in Oregon the plates will go with the motorcycle - if it sells out of state I'll keep the plates and move them to one of my other motorcycles. Here is a You-Tube Link you'll want to listen to of a walk around of the motorcycle AND starting and running unit. You might want to watch the video twice and really note the condition of All the Plastic - Gas Tank - Exhaust System - engine cases etc. https://youtu.be/TdEz547gsSU If you are not knowledgeable about this bike but are interested please take the time to educate yourself through Google or Wikipedia. Also you?ll be able to obtain all the specs and pictures you want to your hearts content at these locations. I am selling this bike to someone who knows what it is already. And, The reason I am selling is - that I am totally out of room and, I am SLOWLY moving my museum "Genre" over to Street legal liquid cooled two strokes - primarily ones that were never imported into the USA. I am selling this bike here now - to hopefully to get people watching so, when I start listing the other 10 bikes I'll be selling for sale out of the collection - they'll be be in step with the excellent condition of ALL the bikes in my Museum. PLEASE do not ask me which ones these will be- because I haven't decided yet. I am deciding 1 bike at a time. And, I want to make sure that they are placed well ! If you mark me as a favorite seller - in your Ebay account - you will be notified every time I put up a new listing. I'll only be selling 1 at a time due to time constraints for my Master Mechanic to un-mothball each one and totally go through the bikes to vet them out mechanically for confirmation of proper operation for the new owners. Couple of other points I want to cover that I've ran into with the last several auctions - 1- If you're in the area and would like to see the bike in person let me know - early on. 2- If you wait to contact me about ANYTHING concerning this the purchase or the bidding of This Motorcycle - In THE ACUTION'S LAST 24 HOURS - you've most likely waited to long. Ask any of your questions early - come see it in person early. Don't expect me to turn my life upside down or change my person plans for those who wait until the last minute to want to do something. This is a 7 day auction. I do not sell NON-RUNNING motorcycles like so many people/shops on Ebay. My bikes can go straight into another Museum or, with a General Check Over Service can be driven to your hearts content. IMPORTANT - Please review The deposit and Payment terms before bidding If you have less then 10 ebay histories and/or less then a 100% Feedback - Please reach out to me before bidding - otherwise your bid can be cancelled out Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs& needed arrangements. The bike will not leave here until full payment has been received and verified by me.I will work with your shipper with respect to the bikes pick up at MY location.I recommend Federal Companies - Allied Van Lines.
