Vehicle Detail
67 Ford Mustang Restomod If you don't like to be the center of attention, or don't like waves, thumbs up, and conversation wherever you go, then this Mustang isn't for you. This beautiful mustang was built from the ground up starting with a shell that was sand blasted to bare metal and coated with PPG epoxy primer. All sheet metal repairs were done right to get a solid rust free body then worked into a straight rust free shell as a base for the Viper Red PPG paint. Every nut, bolt, and part was either restored or replaced, and great attention to detail went into the assembly of this tastefully modified restoration. A complete Grab-A-Trak suspension makeover with 1" drop coils combined with the Shelby mod provide a mean stance to support the 302 crate motor hosting a mild cam, performance intake, Edelbrock carb, Pertronics ignition among other niceties that give this looker just enough bite. Power makes it's way to the rear through a rebuilt C-4 and a custom racing drive shaft that transfer the power to a 9" rear end sporting a 3.50:1 posi riding on five leaf reverse eye springs. Hugging the road are some meaty BF Goodrich g-force road race tires riding on 18x9" Foose rims. It doesn't take long to get this hot 'Stang going, and she stops quickly by way of power disk brakes on all four corners. You'll ride comfortably in this all new deluxe interior. The seat frames were blasted and repainted and ride on rebuilt seat rails, with new deluxe covers stretched over new foam. The new brushed aluminum inserts accent the new door panels and dash panel, and make way for the rebuilt instrument cluster, which includes a custom tachometer in place of the clock. A nice Boss Audio sound system can play your favorite tunes if you choose to do so, but I prefer the throaty sound of the dual chamber 2-1/2" stainless steel Flowmaster exhaust mated to Hedman Hedders. This garage kept and covered restoration has been complete for just over a year, and only a few hundred miles have clicked off the odometer going to neighborhood cruises and local shows. She starts right up and runs and drives great. Motor is responsive to throttle, and the shifts are crisp thanks to the trans-go shift kit. In auto mode, it likes to shift early, so some tuning via the vacuum modulator or governor may resolve this, but I've been happy doing manual shifting so I haven't bothered. When choosing the paint scheme, I wasn't sure I'd like the red and black Shelby style stripes so I chose to do a proof of concept using 3M vinyl. It turned out that was a good decision, as I had also added Shelby style rocker stripes and didn't like them so I removed them. I really like the look of the racing strips so I decided to keep them, and the vinyl looks so good I've not had the need or desire to paint the stripes. The good news is that you can leave them as is, remove them, or convert to paint if you choose to do so. I love to drive this beauty, love the looks and compliments I get, but I love tinkering and building even more. I've got several hobbies and am looking to use the funds from this to buy and enclosed trailer and eventually start another build. Check out the photos below, then get over whelmed by the list of new parts and upgrades listed after the photos. The restoration process was documented in hundreds of photos, receipts, along with a spreadsheet of all the vendors and specs. The investment in parts alone exceeds the asking price of this impressive ride. Before bidding, please make sure you read EVERYTHING, including all of the information I've provided after the extensive list, including the terms and conditions. Minor cosmetic or mechanical imperfectionsmay be present but were described and disclosed. I have gone over the car andtried to be sure everything major is in working order, and disclose anything that is not. It is yourresponsibility to check these things out yourself have an agent do so, or trust that I have alreadydone so. I will not re-negotiate the selling price after the auction has ended. I ask that you please have the vehicle picked up within 30 daysof auction end or I reserve the right to charge $10/day storage fee beyond that point. On Mar-25-18 at 12:44:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I've taken a video of the car running that you can view here: https://youtu.be/OExcjgR2YME I was also able to pull the car up on some ramps and get a better look and photos of the underside, see below. It looks like the transmission oil pan may not be sealed good and I see moisture around the edges and forming on the pan. There is also a small drop forming on the end of the transmission tail housing likely coming from around the yoke seal. The underside is still clean because it's never been driven in bad weather or wet roadways. I did notice that the chrome oil pan must not be chromed very well as it's showing surface rust spots in the chrome. I've included more photos below:
