This auction is for a very solid Golf Yellow 1976 BMW 2002. This is one of the most rust free unrestored cars I have seen. The only rust is at the front of the spare tire well. No rust or bubbles in the usual place like around the windows non on the front or rear strut/shock towers or on the hood near the battery where I have experienced rust on other 2002 cars, none on this one.This car is from the Nevada desert so is remarkably rust free. The car also show no signs of ever being rear ended as so many of these cars do. It does have a dent in the left front fender and in the passenger door from a failed door brake, not bad. The sub frames and underneath are like new, no rust not dented. The engines starts right up and runs quiet and smooth with no smoke. The car has parking stickers from the early 1990s for the University of Nevada Las Vegas and has a clear Nevada title.The desert was kind to the metal, but the sun was hard on the paint and seats. The clear coats is peeling quite a lot and the original seats are faded and have some holes. It looks to have the original carpet which is not bad. The car has a Behr Air Conditioner, probably dealer installed. Everything is there, but the belts are off so it probably needs work. It sounds like it could use a new center bearing, but drive very well. It has been sitting for away so needs some attention to be a driver, but not much or restored it with almost no rust repair needed. It’s a 1976 so has to be smog tested in California and probably won’t pass without some work so please don’t bid on it if you are in California unless you are prepared to smog it.
